Originally from Chicago, I found himself involved in crime which led to a 75 years sentence in the Louisiana State Prison, at Angola in 1972. I grew from being a criminal militant to a leader, teacher, magazine editor, author, speaker, counselor and minister of God's Word. Twenty-seven years later, following being featured in the Academy Award Nominated Documentary The Farm Life Inside Angola Prison I was released. I have sat on numerous boards like the Innocence Project of New Orleans, The Heritage Ranch for Children, The Prison Foundation, the Teen Summit Foundation. Today he is associate pastor at Miracle Place Church, a teacher at the Leader's Institute, an international speaker, a member of the Kairos Prison Ministry (State Advisory Council), a member of the Louisiana Sentencing Commission's subcommittee on prison re-entry, is married to Minister Susan Witherspoon and has three wonderful children and three grandchildren.
