The question has been raised, “Can anything good come from the housing projects, more specifically Fairfield Court in Richmond, Virginia?” Well, the answer to that question is yes. Pastor David J. Briggs, Sr. is a product of Fairfield Court. Although, his father left him at the age of two and he was raised in a single parent home, the hand of the Lord was upon his life. At four years old, Pastor Briggs knew he had a passion for music and a special gift of singing. He perfected this gift by singing in church choirs and as a soloist. Pastor Briggs also participated and won many competitions and talent shows. In 1986, he won Mr. Black Teen World of Virginia.

Pastor Briggs has been a Praise and Worship Leader, as well as Minister of Music for many churches from Virginia to Arkansas. Pastor Briggs has been blessed to share his music ministry on the same stages and venues with major gospel artists such as the Late Great Timothy Wright, Myrna Summers, Pastor John P. Kee, Ricky Dillard, Canton Spirituals, and many more.

David J. Briggs Sr. is the Pastor of the Covenant of Blessings Anointed Cathedral. He currently resides in West Helena, Arkansas for the last eight years. Over the past 25 years he has held just about every office in the church from usher to now Pastor.

Pastor Briggs biggest fans are his five children, Christopher, Davita, David Jr., Courtney, and Javon. He is a Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Songwriter, Actor, Psalmist, Musician and Author.
Briggs motto is “FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION”. Pastor Briggs believes that he was named David for a purpose and a reason. He has seen himself in the word of God, that has been spoken over his life in Psalms 89: 20-24.

20) I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

21) With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

22) The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

23) And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

24) But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted

Fall 2010, Pastor Briggs will release his book entitled, “Trapped in a Two Way Love Affair, Lord Get Me Out of This” and his CD entitled, “Just Worship Your Way Out.” He has been preaching for more than 20 years and Pastoring for six years.
