Pastor Evangelist Carolyn L. Charleston has touched many lives through her unique style of blending the Old and New Testaments together while teaching and preaching the Word of God. Evangelist Charleston was raised in a strong spiritual home and benefited by both the Baptist and Catholicism cannons of scripture.

In 1984 while attending Christ Temple Church in Muskegon Michigan, Pastor Charleston received the baptism in both water and spirit. Filled with the Holy Ghost and on fire for God, she immediately began working in a variety of church ministries specifically, the free lunch program, pastor’s choir, as well as attending the Michigan Bible Institute, Inc. under the late Bishop William Burrel. Pastor Charleston received her license to Minister the Word of God under District Elder [ now Bishop] Willie Burrel of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P. A. W.).

God moved the Charleston family from Muskegon to the Grand Rapids area in 1991. While under Pastor Larry Weaver of Greater Eleazar Temple, the Lord began using Carolyn in a mighty way. Both she and her late husband Pastor Roosevelt Charleston began an inner-city gang ministry which opened the door to help plant the Good News Community Church. Pastor Charleston was ordained in both 1994 through the Good News Community Church as Evangelist of Women’s Ministry and as an aide to her husband.

Pastor Charleston has walked in each of the 5-fold offices of ministry and has received many awards for her participation in social and cultural affairs. Pastor Charleston is received across the Midwest as a prolific speaker with a powerful deliverance ministry that reaches out to women in emotional transit.

Pastor Charleston was the past Board of Trustees vice-president to the Reconciliation of Life Ministries, Founder of the Sister of Salt Ministries, and CEO of Charleston Christian Counseling Inc. A unique author, she is currently completing a writing “Dancing Through the Darkness” a spiritual approach to recovery and its effects on women.

Pastor earned a Masters Degree from Grand Valley State University, and is currently ministering under Bishop LD. Hughes of the Good News Community Church where she teaches, preaches, and works in the office of spiritual administrator to her Pastor, and also Pastors the Judah Generation Outreach Ministry serving re-entry women an daddicts.
