- Apostle Michael U. Smith Sr. was called to the ministry in June of 1986, he was first licensed by Bishop George W Swain of the Greater Victory Temple Apostolic Church of Boston Massachusetts, under the presiding prelate Bishop Alfonzo Brooks of the way of the cross Church in Washington DC, which was the head quarters of the Way of the Cross Church. Pastor Smith has an earned Baccalaureate degree in criminal justice management and an earned Master degree also in criminal justice management.
Pastor Smith was Licensed in October of that same year In May of 1988 Pastor Smith was Ordained elder and was assigned to Pastor the Greater Victory temple Apostolic Church in Plymouth North Carolina, where he started with only a small handful of member. Pastor Smith pastured there for 7 years during those years the Church grew to 140 members in 1994 Pastor Smith returned to Boston leaving a membership of 140 strong.
Upon returning to Massachusetts after serving in the Greater Victory Temple Church Ministries for 16 years, the Lord set a new edit in the heart of pastor smith, pastor Smith was sent to a small congregation in the summer of 1994 under the leadership of Bishop Joseph D.Ely of Mount Calvary Holy assembly of America under the presiding Prelate Bishop Alfred E Owens also in Washington DC which, is the head quarters. Pastor Smith served under Bishop Joseph D. Ely for three years where he was Ordained Elder while serving on the ministerial staff in the summer of 1997.
While serving under Bishop Joseph Ely the Lord was multi tasking in the Life of Pastor Smith, Pastor Smith was then, summoned to a new vineyard which was orchestrated by God, much to the chagrin of Pastor Smith, the Lord sent him to the Historic Charles St AME Church which; was a new frontier. The Lord blessed Pastor Smith because Pastor Smith once again brought help to a ministry that the Lord was raising up in a New Season. After 7 years at the Historic Charles Street AME church under the Leadership of Pastor Rev Dr Gregory G Groover Sr, who was under the supervision of Presiding Elder Hubert L Eddy of the First Episcopal District and the Presiding prelate and the Late Bishop Ming, Pastor Smith was ordained by Bishop Zedechiah Grady of the AME Church in May of 2004, at the New England Annual Conference.
The wind of change was still blowing, God was still multi tasking in the Life of pastor Smith, he was about to come full circle, after much trial, tribulation, prayer and supplication, the Lord sent Pastor Smith back to North Carolina through his quest for spiritual direction, God used pastor Smith to deliver a revelator Message that would for ever change the course of his life, through pastor smith’s obedience to Gods instruction he delivered a message sent from the spirit of God to an waiting vessel that receive the Word, which was the turning point that brought Pastor Smith full circle, and that is here in North Carolina, Pastor Smith was sent to St Mark AME Church in the City of Rocky Mount North Carolina under the leadership of Melvin I Graham, who was under the supervision of presiding Elder Larry S. Hinton of the Second Episcopal District of the North Carolina Annual under the presiding prelate Bishop Adam J. Richardson.
After much controversy God had strategically place Pastor Smith between Pharos army and the red sea, Pastor smith went to Oak chapel AME church in the town of Warrenton North Carolina where once again he was set to help this time, he was helping his wife the Rev Jessica E. Smith who was sent to Oak chapel AME Church where the Congregation grew form one member to forty seven in just two years.
