BISHOP MARY FLOYD PALMER is the eldest daughter of Rev. Dr. Melvin & Mrs. Elizabeth Floyd and resides in the Germantown section of Philadelphia with her family. Rev. Dr. Melvin Floyd is the legendary Urban Missionary in Philadelphia and known as the “Dean of Evangelism”.
Being born into a family where “grass roots evangelism” was the family mantle, she quickly embraced what she knows and loves as Ministry. Her acceptance of Jesus Christ and baptism by her father only caused her to serve actively in Church life beginning at her birth Church, Hopewell New Psalmist Baptist Church, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, Union Baptist Church, and continues to date. Her formal education hails from Philadelphia Christian and Public schools, namely the Philadelphia High School for Girls, where she is a Suma Cum Laude honors graduate and a varsity-lettered athlete for 5 sports. She continues her educational pursuits in both Criminal Justice and Ministry.
Professionally, she held several corporate positions as a Manager/Supervisor, Training Officer, Event Planner, Customer Service Manager and Executive Assistant, notwithstanding her public service as a Police Officer. Because of her early exposure to law enforcement, corrections and relationship-building through her father’s non-profit organization, she realized the need to embrace the mantle placed on her life through practical work in both areas. In May, 2006, she entered full-time ministry as a Motivational Speaker sharing common sense principles on public (work-related) and private relationships, and an Evangelist Preacher sharing the Word of God in a direct, practical and no-nonsense manner. Because she is a “family woman”, her passion to share life-saving and life-changing wisdom has lasting effects which show successful resolution of conflicts for those who seek individual, pre-marital, marital, family and/or intervention counseling sessions and seminars/workshops for groups no matter the age or gender. Since January 2011, over 200 persons have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior through her evangelistic outreach. This is evidence of powerful preaching and teaching!
As a Chartered member of Agape Christian Chapel founded by her Father in 1987, she served faithfully in all auxiliaries until she was licensed and ordained as a Gospel Preacher by him as well. Once she entered the “pulpit arena” she continued her consistent service as Pastor's Assistant & Advisor to the Ministerial Staff at Agape Christian Chapel, Deaconess, and President of the Prison Ministry. As an accomplished musician who plays organ, piano, trombone & drums, she served faithfully as Minister of Music (Emeritus) for 23 years overseeing a musician staff of six and seven singing units. As a gospel singer, she sang with Sweet Fellowship Inspirational Choir, Carol Antrom afternoon of Songs Choir, & City Wide Revival Choir for about 15years each. Additionally, she has helped to plant beginning Church & outreach ministries for those who desire to reach "the least of these" without compensation. To keep her passion for prison ministry ignited, she served as a Volunteer Instructor for (2) weekly Reality Life Skills Classes for male inmates at SCI-Chester State and female inmates at Camden County Correctional Facilities for the past 13 & 8 years respectively. Because of her diligence, she received the 2008 PA State Volunteer of The Year Award for her faithful dedication and still travels statewide to speak to the inmate population at both state and county facilities on a monthly basis.
Her religious and community outreach is evidenced by her service as:

Affectionately called “Bishop Mary”, she was ordained and consecrated to the Episcopal position of Bishop Ordinary in April 2010. Her responsibilities include assisting with the operations of 5 divisions and offers guidance to its membership inclusive of 200 churches, 85 bishops, and 350 members. Because of her tenacity, she completes each assigned task with integrity and fidelity. Recognizing the theme of her Consecration address, “The Least of These”, she launched her revolutionary vision called The Samaritan Venture through her personal ministry now known as Bishop Mary Ministries in January 2011. This venture is geared to strengthen the Church from within so they can receive those who are on the outside in the Community. She not only seeks salvation of the unsaved through realistic preaching and teaching, but desires that all persons are holistically healed and forever delivered in order to live the abundant life designed by Christ. Her future endeavor holds the vision of serving as Pastor/Shepherd of an established Church or founding a Church ministry for those who yearn to learn of God in a practical and relevant way while being disciple and trained to serve God effectively. This would be the pinnacle of her Ministry as she shares her heart of love for God’s people.
Her Ministry verse is Philippians 1:6 (paraphrased): “God does not begin anything in you that He doesn’t equip and anoint you to complete in Him.” Therefore, remain steadfast! (I Cor. 15:58).
