- Bishop Carter has been noted for his efforts in Church Planting, Development, and Administration. He is the recipient of many city proclamations, awards, and merits. Bishop Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a minor in Religion and Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies from the Southwestern Christian University. He also holds a Certificate of Pastoral Ministry and is currently seeking to pursue his Doctoral degree.
Bishop Carter is presently serving as Founding & Senior Pastor of Houston’s Best Kept Secret Exposed, the Sanctuary Church of Jesus Christ, located in Downtown Houston and ministers in one of Houston’s most depreciated and economically disadvantaged communities, Third Ward. God continues to bless, Bishop Carter currently serves as Diocesan Bishop of the Gulf Coast Diocese for the International Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ, Inc., under the leadership of Apostle Cornelius Showell, Presiding Bishop & Chief Apostle.
He is married to the love of his life and best friend, First Lady Lanette Carter, and together they have three children, Lawrence, Cameron, and Layla Carter.
