THESE ARE THE ONES WHOM GOD CALLS "GREAT"!

In Luke 1, two men are mentioned as being "great." Luke 1:15 says of John the Baptist - "For he shall be great." Luke 1:5 says - "There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea" - commonly known as Herod the Great. John was "great in the sight of the Lord." Herod was "great" in the sight of himself & of his court.

Which was the really great man?
Are you striving to be "great in the sight of men" or "great in the sight of the Lord" ?

"Those are great indeed that are so in God's sight, no… Continue

Sursum corda - Up with you hearts, was anciently used as a call to devotion. With a holy contempt of the world and the things of it, by a fixed thought and active faith, we must set God before us, and let out our desires towards Him as the fountain of our happiness."

A LITTLE ONE HAS BECOME A THOUSAND

This message is prophetic. It applies to all those who has been going through a time of great barrenness in their spiritual walk with the Lord or in their ministry.

For the longest time, you may have felt the chastening hand of the Lord - stripping away at your life - so to speak - causing great self-judgment and examination. At times, things - that have happened - did not make any sense whatsoever. You have cried out unceasingly for answers from the Lord.

It seems as though - all those around… Continue

WITH GROANINGS WHICH CANNOT BE UTTERED

"He (God) takes the meaning of our tears, The language of our groans." - Charles Spurgeon

In praying, words may be sincere and truthful, yet they may not be able to express the full meaning of the supplicant. That is when the soul reaches out to a language that is unutterable - consisting of unuttered groanings, voiceless moanings, silent musings, and inward mournings. These are expressions that are more than the one praying can express or explain in ordinary language. They are the yearnings Go… Continue

WHEN WILL YOU STOP GOING AFTER THE TINSEL & TOYS OF THIS WORLD?

"Because God will soon destroy the world and judge the unrighteous, we must not become attached to this world's system or things within it." - The Full Life Study Bible

"Common sense tells us to turn from the tinsel and toys of this world and live in holiness and godliness. It is a simple matter of living for eternity rather than time, of emphasizing the spiritual rather than the material, of choosing the permanent over the passing." - Believer's Bible Commentary

"Everything material has the s… Continue

Don't get caught up in ambition, but continue in the commission of Jesus Christ.

"Anyone who wishes to be a follower of mine must leave SELF behind. he must take up his cross, and come with me." Mark 8:34

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it's a thin line between personal ambition and going in God's Divine commission of salvation. Question yourself, are you preaching for position, recognition, title, fame, and fortune? Are you trying to out do the next church or ministry. Are you trying to out do your neighbors?

Be careful, for the spirit of the antichrist is out deceiving God's men and women. For many are trying to become great in the Kingdom of God in their own strength. Let us not forget that Christ alone is the Great One (The Great I AM). We are His sheep in His pasture. We are called by Him, not ourselves. It is Christ that live in us, for we should all be dead to ourselves.

That which we seek is God's Divine Kingdom, not foundations laid by the hands and the ambition of mankind. Let's us not become as James and John, assuming the Kingdom of God is worldly. That it is based upon human influence and personal preferment (promoting yourself, but saying it's of God).

Let us not forget the Cross on Calvary. Let us die daily to ourselves. It's not about you. It's about God's Heavenly Kingdom...

We die daily to the things of the world. Let us examine ourselves and see if we are in the faith. Take up your cross and follow Christ. Die deadly, never forgetting the Great Commission of Christ.
