About Me: (Ministry Info, Hobbies, Fav. Music etc.)
G. Avery Wilson was born to Joseph Ray and Sandra Wilson on January 27, 1976 in Vineland, New Jersey. He is the third child of ten children. During his early years, he was raised in Cumberland County, New Jersey. At age 11, due to a series of tragic events, Elder Wilson was separated from his four siblings at the time and placed into the foster care system of the state of New Jersey.

For the next few years, Elder Wilson was moved from home to home for various reasons at least once per year. Finally, in August 1990, at age 14, he was placed in the home of the person who would eventually become his spiritual mother, Ethel Marable. While in her home, she went above and beyond her call of duty as a specialized foster parent to introduce him to a true relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Up until that time Elder Wilson had always had knowledge of God and His precepts but never had accepted Him as Lord or endeavored to abide by His commandments.

Later that same year, he was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in December under the tutelage of Apostle Robert E. Farrow, pastor of Bethel Commandment Church of Whitesboro, NJ. During the next few years, he studied the Word of God and served the ministry faithfully. In 1992, after being mandated by state guidelines to move again, the Lord blessed Elder Wilson to be placed into the home of Bishop Charles and 1st Lady Gail Farrow who not only continued to raise him naturally, but encouraged and strengthened him spiritually. For the remainder of his high school years, he was known for his effective witness among his peers, often bringing a van load of peers to weekly services. In April 1994, he was ordained as a deacon, at the age of 18. Since that time he assisted fledgling ministries in Fort Washington, MD, Gastonia, NC, Rock Hill, SC, and Washington, DC with startup and operations serving in many capacities. Currently, Elder Wilson serves at Mt. Zion Commandment Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Willie A. Robinson, Jr. as the: Church Administrator, Music Director; Praise and Worship leader, Assistant Director of Education and Youth Ministries; Bible Class Instructor; and Financial Team Member.

He is also the President & CEO of the International Youth Fellowship, Inc. which the Lord inspired him to establish in August 2005 with the support of his pastor. In March 2007, he was elected to serve on the executive board of Kingdom Covenant Ministries, a national, interdenominational brotherhood of ministers, as the Executive Secretary.

Elder Wilson is committed whole heartedly to selflessly serving the needs of mankind. In April 2006, Elder Wilson became a living organ donor, donating a kidney to a fellow member of the body of Christ. He also consistently donates platelets at area blood banks. In addition he has spear headed the planning of many community events such as blood drive, community days, food and coat drives, health and wellness fairs and more.

He resides in Laurel, MD, is married and the proud father of six children. He is enrolled in the Evangel Bible School (Upper Marlboro, MD) pursuing dual certificates in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministries. Additionally, he is in pursuit of a degree in Business/Organizational Management.

In October 2008, God's grace allowed him to release his first book entitled "Getting Past the Past: Tragic Circumstances Don't Have to Ruin Your Life". This work chronicles Elder Wilson's life as a child and young adult and tells his testimony of abuse & how he overcame it.

As he has continues to grow in the grace of the Lord, his heart is to edify, empower and encourage the people of God, especially the youth in the body of Christ. He teaches to the faith of Jesus Christ and the commandments of God with power and understanding; demonstrating the power of God in word and deed.
