“Karen DeVon’ the TRUE WORSHIPER”

Often referred to as an Anointed Voice gifted by God, Karen DeVon’ is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina born to Bobby and Cassie Green. Karen has been singing since the tender age of 5. She has had the opportunity to step into different arenas to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by singing as a background and lead vocalist for “Kyle Summers and Heaven’s Best as well as “The Visions of Judah”. Karen has also worked with D’Chris- Producer of Signature Sound Productions on other projects as well as her own Demo. Karen has performed in several Gospel stage plays such as “When a Woman’s Fed Up” as Maybelle, “Ain’t Nobody Perfect as Emma and “A Good Man Is Still Hard To Find as a supporting role. Karen had been appointed in her past ministry as Praise and Worship Leader, Director of the Youth and Children’s Choir and “Sermonic Psalmist” which was a phenomenal responsibility. She has sung at weddings, graduations, funerals, concerts and different events. Karen is one of the founders of a youth gospel singing group called, “Davidic Praize” which consist of several teens who go out and minister when the opportunity arises.

Karen is multi-talented; a very strong willed woman who is family oriented and places God as well as her family first which includes not only her biological children but her adoptive children also. Karen is loving, sympathetic, a great leader, motivator and the most giving person that some people will ever know. She is what one would call a “spiritual advisor” whom provides positive and inspirational words of kindness to everyone in need of guidance. Karen has a heart of solid gold and goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others. Her positive outlook on life radiates and jumps off on to others at their weakest moment. Even when she is going through a storm she is still encouraging you. She is a breath of fresh air. Karen continues to use her gifts to encourage and uplift others. Karen is also dedicated, loyal, trustworthy, faithful and obedient to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of his word. Her winning smile and awesome voice welcomes you into her family. Karen not only sings but she lives in her songs and gives the world a piece of her through her voice.

Karen is always thinking of others. She is God fearing and quick to remind those who visit “The Valley” quite often that God still loves them and he has not forgotten about them just “Hold On”. Some would say that she is heaven sent because she has truly been an angel. Karen is fearless, and when she is unsure she will say to God “Ok Lord, I need you to tell me what to do”. She has been called mother, daughter, sister, best friend and a friend for life. Karen is patient and her story is one that will touch every heart in the room.

Behind the scenes, Karen is a devoted and a loving mother of three children who have been blessed with the gifts of God, Vanesa, Khadejah and Imari. She loves her children and she works hard for them. Karen often refers to them as her guardian angels. Karen is a true definition of a mother. She is also an awesome business woman who has owed two hair salons in the past “Kingdom Care Hair Salon “and “The Beauty in You Hair Salon”.

Karen’s true passion is the Worship Experience and being in the presence of the most high God, ministering through song, touching lives and seeing the manifestation of God’s Glory. By saying “yes” to her calling Karen is determined to fulfill her destiny.

Chapter 1 of “Spiritual Warfare - GUW Mode”: The DVD - coming November, 1012:

A basic factor leading to the decline of spiritual discernment in the church is a widespread failure to interpret Scripture properly.  Hermeneutics - Bible interpretation is an exacting science.  Good preaching depends on careful hermeneutics.  But too many preachers in today’s church ignore the meaning of Scripture altogether.  Pulpits are filled with preachers who are unwilling to do the hard work necessary to interpret Scripture properly.  They pad their messages with stories, anecdotes, and clever outlines - all of which disguises the weakness or lack of biblical content.

Certainly application is crucial, but careful interpretation must always come first.  To attempt to apply the word without understanding is sheer stupidity.  Unfortunately, the standard has sunk so low today that even well-known Christian leaders can twist Scripture beyond recognition, yet no one seems to notice.

Bible interpretation is a skill that requires diligent work, an understanding of the meaning of the original languages, a working knowledge of grammar and logic, a grasp of the historical settings, competence in theology, and a broad understanding of the whole of Scripture.  Those who lack expertise in Greek and Hebrew must be all the more careful, checking commentaries, dictionaries and other study helps to analyze the text as carefully as possible.

One man who pastors a church of several thousand people recently preached a message on Acts 26:2, Paul’s defense before Agrippa.  Paul said, “I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews.”  This man pulled out the phrase “I think myself happy” and preached a sermon the importance of positive thinking in the midst of adversity!  But Paul was not telling Agrippa anything about positive thinking; he was saying, “I consider myself fortunate (NASB) to be able to make a defense.  That preacher had corrupted the intent of Paul’s inspired words because he was using the verse out of context to teach an unbiblical doctrine.

The person who is not a diligent student cannot be an accurate interpreter of God’s Word.  Scripture indicates that such a person is not approved by God and should be ashamed of himself (2 Timothy 2:15).
