- I am a black woman who had been in church from the time I can remember walking, but lately I am concerned for the church and its lack of passion for the needs of the people. I have not fully attended a ministry since my divorce 4 years ago. I have not lost my passion for Christ but I have lost my tolerance with folks who call themselves children of God. I am disappointed in the growth of ministries and Leaders across the nation but the lack of compassion the people are receiving from the leaders. The church has become complacent. They have lost their zeal. There is a form of Godliness and they’re arrogant about their denial in the power o f the Holy Spirit.
I have never thought I would see the day where the people have to be entertained and motivated to think on Christ’s sacrifice for us. I have never read in the word of God where Jesus entertained, motivated, called for the dancers, singers, or relied on the entertainment of the world to come convince to people that He was the way. Christ said if He was lifted up, He would draw all men unto him. What happens in the church when the music stops-does the drawing stops~
The church is relying less on the Holy Spirit to draw the people and is focused more on the manipulation of the people emotions. The people are not moved by the anointing but the animation and performance of the entertainers, including the pastors. The people come in the church, get high a pumped and when they leave-they leave with change. CHRIST BRINGS CHANGE, HEALING AND RENEWING OF THEMIND. I have learned that as a people some believe they "have arrived" (homes, cars, and tangible), but what has happened to the relationships with Christ. What happened to the love for our fellow man? What happened to church leaders communicating and collaboration with the flock? I have never seen it where the Sheppard has to have body guards, stand-ins and an attorney on speed dial at all times. mmmm, thank God for the Holy Spirit. We need leaders who will not compromise for a token………..
