Bishop McKinley August was born to McKinley and Myra August on August 30,1952. His parents has raised him in the admiration of Christ. He learned at a very young age to depend of Jesus and the words of his mother (Jesus will work it out).

Bishop is an veteran of the United States Air Force and a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Bishop McKinley August, Jr joined New Day Deliverance Holiness Church with his family in the early 1980's, and quickly moved up in the service of the Lord.

He was the choir president for 10 years and was the assistant of Pastor Gladney for many years leading him to be the Assistant Pastor and soon after Pastor of the New Day Deliverance Church in Orange, Texas.

The ministry quickly grew and doubled in membership in just under a year of service. God spoke to the Man of God's heart to branch off and create a ministry giving birth to Cathedral of Praise Ministries.
The ministry moved to Beaumont, Texas in 1996, and God's spoken word to the Bishop manifested before the eyes of many.

Bishop August is the Founder and Leader of the United Fellowship Organization, an organization joining people and ministry for one cause and that's stopping the enemy in it's track. This organization offers a choice to flow in God without chains and bondage with discipline and leadership in Christ.
God has moved in Cathedral of Praise Ministries leading our Bishop to open up a Houston location and many more soon to come.
