- Minister Jason Caranto was born in Pittsburg, CA on February 6, 1972. Born and raised in the Bay Area, graduated from Pittsburg High in 1990. Jason went on to college to Los Medanos College, later transfered to Diablo Valley College, Liberal Arts major. Jason gave his life to Christ at the age of 18 years. It was then that Jason heard Rev. Henry L. Perkins preach a sermon, that changed his life forever. He became a member of First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry L. Perkins. He went on to lend his voice in the choir, singing with the First Baptist Youth, Mass Choirs, Praise & Worship,Workshops, Community choirs. He joined the singing group of "IBG" with Dea. James Nelson, Warren Nelson, Rev. Casey Threats, and Vernice Taylor. Jason became a member of the board of trustees at First Baptist. Served in the NAACP Youth Chapter. It was 1999 that Jason was called to preach. He later accepted his calling in 2000, preached his first sermon in 2001. Jason has been an armor-bearer to Pastor Perkins for many years. Jason has engaged in ministry through music, preaching, teaching, even prison ministry. Jason married Miss Deana Fox on June 21, 2003. He later went on to San Francisco to assist Pastor E.D. McGee at Zion Hill Baptist Church, preaching and teaching. Jason has had the opportunity to sing with Carlton Burgess, Kirk Franklin, Eugene Cole, Barbara Jean Davis, Terry Blinks, Paul Cooley, the legendary Zilfert Johnson, Patrick Bradley, The late great BJ Fears, Wayne Johnson, Reginald Finley, Rodney Williams, Antoine Wesley, Tyrone Davis & San Jose Young Adults, Shell Calhoun, Q-Godfear, Rich Tucker, A-FLAT, 2 of The Crew. Jason sang with Gerard Davis and The Worship Crusade Chorale, where he became the ministry director. He later went on to help out with Elder Carl Mason and the New Faith C.O.G.I.C. Young Adults. He relocated from the Bay Area in 2005 to Arizona, where he is a member of Pilrgim Rest Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Alexis A. Thomas. In 2008, Jason and his family moved back to the Bay Area, continues to serve where God leads. Getting ready to gear up for his first recording ever,look out for this man of God!!! He enjoys traveling, fishing, FOOTBALL big University Southern California fan!! Go SC, fight on Trojans... RAIDERS all day, what we do, when I'm not at church! I love to read, working out, music, and singing. Most of all spending quality time with my wife, kids, loving God, living life!
