- I am Eddie L. Stallworth Jr. and I am Senior Pastor/Founder of Horizons Church and CEO of New Horizons Ministries and Horizons Compassionate Care. I received a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary in Loris, South Carolina.
From the very beginning of my understanding that I had a purpose for being on this earth, I realized it was to glorify God. According to 2 Corinthians 5:18 "...God... hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation". My purpose in ministry is to expand the sphere of influence of the Kingdom of God in this earth and at the same time destroy the strongholds of the kingdom of darkness. It should be noted that to take on this assignment has meant risking adversity and welcoming opposition. However, as a duly authorized Ambassador of Christ, I have the delegated power to alter the geo-political positioning and the climate set by the agents working in behalf of Satan's organization. God has commissioned me with Apostolic Authority and Pentacostal Power with an Evangelical Message. Outside of that mandate, there is no greater purpose for ministry as it relates to me.
God placed in me a vision that called for the establishment of ministry work for the purpose of empowering people and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission of The Horizons Church is simple, "To Teach, To Disciple and To Send Out" based on the example and the uncompromised gospel of Jesus Christ, helping the Body recognize their purpose and to reach their full potential in this life and in the life to come using the Word of God as the standard guide “...for the equipment of the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God…”(Ephesians 4:12,13).
We believe in Acts 2:42-47 describing the church as different kinds of people from different places, with different backgrounds and with different life experiences worshipping together in agreement based on belief in and acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
We believe that the 21st century church should be concerned with community salvation as well as global salvation and to that end, we will minister to the total person, the total family, and the total community as we use the Word of God to withstand unrighteousness, and (after having done all else) to stand for truth.
