SMART KIDS
INTRODUCTION
In spite of the fact that children are: the most innocent, the most defenseless and the most harmless of the entire normal human race, they have always ruefully stayed at the receiving of most of the unfortunate outcomes of human related disasters, be they man-made or natural. The hard hearts of peace shooters war muggers, power maniacs terrorists and the other agents of destruction operating on behalf of the devil, have never being kind enough, to put in place, pre-implementation damage-limitation measures that would made for the security and right of children especially in Africa. they plan the wars, stage coup d’etets, indulge and unsafe sex activity without putting in place measure to ensure the rescue of children from the consequences of their Projects. The well knew conflict prevention, conflict management and conflict resolution programs and their humanitarian counterparts around the world have largely fallen short of making adequate provision for the security and right of the children.
No child is on record anywhere on earth to have been responsible for or to have taken part in the planning of the events which endanger their own lives, make them orphans and make them dead end kids with absolutely no chance of growing into adults that are capable of living meaningful and proud lives. Children play no part in the unsafe sex, which makes them orphans when their parents die of HIV/AIDS. Children play no part in the planning of the civil wars, which make them homeless, orphans and keep them away from the prospects of becoming marketable materials in society. Children play no part in the planning of the wars of occupation which make them orphans, homeless and stateless. Such children are found all over the place in
Sierra Leone, Liberia, Iraq, Sudan, Palestine, Israel etc.
The United Nations Organization, through its humanitarian agencies, churches, private voluntary organizations, human rights individuals and groups around the world are in a hive of activities trying to ensure the safety, the survival and rights of children to decent childhood life. Nonetheless, their understandable limitations in time, space and other resources leave gaping holes in the lives of the numerous disadvantaged children around the world, especially Africa. This situation of inadequacy and the hands on nature of human problems make the need for ministry like Prefeb Community Church to develop a ministry like SMART KIDS to be dedicated totally to the welfare of children in Africa very acute and imperative.
And it is in response to this dire need for the world’s adults to converge as soul mates, at the rendezvous of the welfare of Africa’s numerous disadvantaged children, that Prefeb Community Church has established the SMART KIDS ministry with the following particulars:

VISION
The vision of SMART KIDS is an African society in which the children experience decent childhood lives and grow into accountable leaders.
Mission
Therefore the mission of the Smart kids ministry involves scrupulous use of all the resources that may be available to:
1.To sensitize parents in Africa to the need for them to see their future in their children.
2.To work with governments in Africa to make education available and affordable for children in Africa.
3.To sensitize African parents to the need for them to exclude their children from the burden of fending for the family.
4. To support Communities to attain food security so children can benefit from it .
5.To support peace related activities in Africa in order to ensure the safety of children.
Thematic Areas or Areas of Concern
Key Areas of concern to the Smarts Kids Ministry include:
1. Education for Opportunities for Children in Africa
2. The Health of Children in Africa
3. Food Security for Children in Africa
4. Communication and information Technology for Children in Africa
5. Spiritual Development of African Children
Specific Objective
In order to accomplish the mission spelt out above, the following specific objectives are a priority in the activities of the smart kids ministry:
1.To create economic empowerment opportunities for women in Africa especially female single parents.
2.To establish reading readiness facilities for children in Africa.
3.To sensitize children in Africa to the need for them to postpone self-gratification to appropriate times in their lives.
4.To sensitize parents in Africa to the need for them to exclude children from the burden of fending for the family.
6.To sensitize adults in Africa to give concession to the innocent and feeble state of being of children in Africa.
7.To work with African leaders to make education available, affordable and compulsory for all African children.
8.To renovate war damaged learning facilities for children in Africa.
9.To equip schools for children in Africa.
10.To support peace related projects in Africa so children can benefit from peaceful environments.
11.To establish recreational facilities for children in Africa.
12.To establish spiritual development facilities for children in Africa.
13.To help African families or communities to realize food security so children can benefit from it.
14.To establish special care facilities for special children in Africa: orphanage, children village SOS children’s homes etc.
15. To support free health facilities for children in Africa
Core Values
Smart Kids Ministry will help in the bringing up of African children, especially those in evidently disadvantaged economic backgrounds in the culture of:
1. Love for God and Man
2. Responsibility
3. Accountability
4. Service
Beneficiaries of Smart Kids activities
The activities the Smart Kids Ministry target African Children in Africa within the age bracket 1-18 years from evidently disadvantaged economic backgrounds of which the greater percentage will be girls. The reason for this is because in most African cultures, especially in Sub-Sahara Africa, do not treat female education with any seriousness. Their Traditional parents maintain the policy of male education at the expense of any potential female high flyers.
Geographical coverage of The Smart Kids Ministry
As and whenever Prefeb Community Church creates a Chapter or an offshoot, it will be sure to establish the Smart Kids Ministry in that Country.
