Rev. C.D. Brown is the proud husband of Elizabeth Hope and the father of Christopher, Elijah, and Cori. Rev. Brown believes in the faith, friendship, forgiveness, and fidelity of marriage. His children are raised and trained according to Scripture, and lives a life that exemplifies Christ as young stewards of God’s kingdom.
Rev. Brown accepted his call to preach in November of 1996, and was licensed to preach in December of 1996. He served as the Associate Minister of Trinity Baptist Church in Sacramento, CA, where he taught Young Men’s Sunday School, Bible Study and Brotherhood.
Rev. Brown was ordained in 2002 and pastored his first church at the age of 25. He concurrently served the Northern District Baptist Association of California as a Teen Summit Lecturer, member of the Sacramento Valley Minister’s Association, and ultimately, the President of the California State Baptist Convention, Young People’s Auxiliary for 3 years.
Rev. Brown and his family relocated to Augusta, GA in 2004 and joined the 5,500 membership Beulah Grove Baptist Church under the Rev. Dr. Sam Davis. As a result of joining this ministry, Rev. Brown was afforded the opportunity to assist the pastor, to preach, serve as the Bible Study Teacher, Team Leader and Team Facilitator of the Partner’s in Training Ministry and the Men’s Sunday School Class Teacher. Rev. Brown also served as a Lecturer in the Vision Builder’s National Conference, Inc.
Rev. Brown received his Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University with honors. He also completed the Master of Arts in Religion degree in 2008 and the Master of Religious Education degree in 2009 from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Currently, Rev. Brown is pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree with specializations in Expository Preaching for the 21st Century from the renowned United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.
Rev. Brown has been noted in the National Dean’s List of National Academic Affairs. He was also awarded the Dean’s List of Liberty University for Academic and Scholastic Excellence. He was also named Chaplain of the Day by Mayor Deke Copenhaver of Augusta, GA.
Rev. Brown currently pastors the Moses Missionary Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. Since his arrival in 2010, the church has adopted a vision, mission and goal, has experienced exponential growth spiritually, numerically, financially, physically, socially, and mentally. Many renovations have been made to improve the church facilities to help address the rapid growth in new membership. Several ministries have been revitalized and launched to foster an environment of spiritual development. During his tenure, the church has adopted a transformational attitude towards ministry, and has become one of the fastest growing churches in the city of total active membership.
Rev. Brown acknowledges all of his personal and professional achievements, but none greater than his love and passion for teaching and preaching God’s Word and leading God’s people. His ministry objective is to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through principles of discipleship, evangelism, homiletics and Christian Education. His favorite book of the Bible is the Gospel of John, and his favorite scripture is “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1).
