- I am member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. I am product of Chicago's West Side, a graduate from Gordon Technical High School in 1991. Rev. Washington received his Bachelors of Art (BA) from Barber-Scotia University in Concord, North Carolina in Sociology and Psychology in 1997.
My mother Mona L. Washington introduced me to Christ at an early age at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church where he became baptized at the age of 13. I was an active member of the Children Choir, Young Adult Choir, Young Peoples Auxiliary (YPA), Shepherd Boys League, Junior Usher Board, Junior Deacon, Vacation Bible School, Sunday and the Gospel Choir.
I also serve as a Chicago Police Officer for the last 10 years. During my work experience, I became a Licensed Case Manager in Palatine, Illinois area where I served for 8 years. I even participated in after school tutoring programs at the Concord Housing Authority in Concord, North Carolina with the youth's ages 8 - 18.
I am formally a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Reverend Craig Melvin Smith, where I announced my call into the Ministry. I grew up in the church and have never left.
I gave excellent leadership to the Joshua Generation, a Youth Ministry at the Freedom Baptist Church, where I formally worked as the Youth Pastor with the teens, young adults, and a staff of professional men and women. The staff brought their work and life experiences to the table for young people to study and learn from their mistakes.
I am currently the Assistant Pastor at the Neighborhood United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jacques Conway located in Maywood, Illinois. I am also the Director of Youth Ministries as well as I serves as Leader over many other Ministries within the church.
I now gives excellent leadership to the Christians On Duty (C.O.D.), a Youth Ministry at the Neighborhood United Methodist Church. I teach the teens a way of understanding God by learning at their level and bringing the word to them through the way they see the world.
I am the proud husband of Lanise R. Washington and the proud father of Malik (son age 14) and Armani (daughter age 8).
Although, I may laugh and joke, I have a serious side when it comes to saving souls. Praise God for what he has done in my life. Many have grown from my ministry and many will come forth because of my dedication to the Lord.
My favorite bible verse is:
Philippians 4:13 - “ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."
