Within the Black Church there appears to be a preoccupation with titles. Today it seems you are not legitimate unless you have Apostle, Prophet, or Bishop in front of your name. Why are there so many Bishops and Apostles? Do the size of the church h…

As stated previously I work for the first seven years of my pastorate. However I know several people who are in full time ministry that have only 20 or 30 people and are full time. It is very difficult to build a ministry if a small church has to su…

I was a bi-vocational pastor for 7 of the 10 years since I have become a Sr. Pastor. In those prior years to me becoming full time I received a modest stipend. Money received was always contingent upon the overall financial health of the church. As…

One of the disturbing trends that I have witness over the last several years has been the lack of Corporate Prayer. In the Gospel Jesus states that he wants His church to be a "House of Prayer for All Nations." Many of our churches are filled on Sun…

We just renovated our church that we purchased last year. It was built in 1886 and the total square footage is about 15,000 sq. feet. We did have some volunteers but they were professionals in their chosen fields. We spent over $200,000.00 with the…

Marva, Great points. There definitely needs to be balance between the spiritual side and the practical and organizational side to ministry. Agreed, outreach is still key to building the Kingdom of God. We need to go out into highways and compel the…

Rev. Luckett, Great points. Our church is set-up so that two people always count the money, They both must sign the report. The money is put into a bank bag, locked and then deposited. The bag and the key to the bag never travel together. I get a w…

Pastor, Here is one of the biggest mistake a young pastor can make it, to solely believed that it only takes a strong prayer life and a call. The organizational part will play a huge role in your life and the success of your ministry not just a str…

Our church is about 45% men and 55% women. One of the comments I have heard from men that have joined our church stated that the reason they have been turned off to church in the past is that the pastor is either too spiritual or too feminine. Men n…

I grew up and was ordained in COGIC. I currently live in the New England area. We currently have over 250 members and the church continues to grow. Our church is less than 10 years old in a predominately Caucasian area. Myles Monroe stated while pri…

CrossPoint Church is a local non-denominational church comprised of believers from various racial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds gathered from around the world. We are not only committed to crossing racial and cultural barriers that have separated the Body of Christ but denominational ones as well.

Our desire is to be known as a church that is racially, culturally, and ethnically integrated. A model type that reflects the will of God, that all believers are one, just as Christ and the Father are one. We make room for all races, tribes and tongues to be a part of establishing the Kingdom of God in our community. This is not only our calling but also our passion.

For mine house shall be call a house of prayer for all people. (KJV) Isaiah 56:7b
