Wonderful response Min. Harris. Everything you have said is true, we must meet them where they are and connect. Only then can we influence them positively to make life changes necessary for life long success.

Power Failure!

Who turned the lights out?
There is a song that we sing here in the south that goes something like this: “there’s a storm out, over the ocean, and it’s movin, this ole way- if your soul’s not anchored in Jesus-you will surly slip away.” Why do I mention the song in conjunction with power failure- because most times when the power fails a storm is the reason it was knocked out. My brothers and sisters I submit to you that there is a power failure in the church. Although many of us (the saints) ar… Continue

Is the Church a Business?

I have a pastor friend who insists that a church must be run like a business. He declares that focusing on the spiritual things simply will not pay the bills. He says "if you can't fill the seats you won't fill the plate." I was grieved to hear this from him.....what say ye? Should the church be run as a business or remain a place to "make disciples?"

Genesis 6:1-4- Who are the "sons of God."

Genesis 6:1-4 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughter… Continue

Don't get caught up in ambition, but continue in the commission of Jesus Christ.

"Anyone who wishes to be a follower of mine must leave SELF behind. he must take up his cross, and come with me." Mark 8:34

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, it's a thin line between personal ambition and going in God's Divine commission of salvation. Question yourself, are you preaching for position, recognition, title, fame, and fortune? Are you trying to out do the next church or ministry. Are you trying to out do your neighbors?

Be careful, for the spirit of the antichrist is out deceiving God's men and women. For many are trying to become great in the Kingdom of God in their own strength. Let us not forget that Christ alone is the Great One (The Great I AM). We are His sheep in His pasture. We are called by Him, not ourselves. It is Christ that live in us, for we should all be dead to ourselves.

That which we seek is God's Divine Kingdom, not foundations laid by the hands and the ambition of mankind. Let's us not become as James and John, assuming the Kingdom of God is worldly. That it is based upon human influence and personal preferment (promoting yourself, but saying it's of God).

Let us not forget the Cross on Calvary. Let us die daily to ourselves. It's not about you. It's about God's Heavenly Kingdom...

We die daily to the things of the world. Let us examine ourselves and see if we are in the faith. Take up your cross and follow Christ. Die deadly, never forgetting the Great Commission of Christ.

Thank you for befriending me Tornell. I see there are others whom God is burdening with a burden that He's burdened by. Sometimes I feel as if I'm a minority of minorities...LOL I'm getting so tired of the sizzle without the steak. The sizzle has no nutrients and doesn't require teeth to chew and very little digestion is needed. God desires us to be hungry for God's Word, not to be starved.
