- Reverend Yuri Solomon Sr. has served as senior pastor of New Life Baptist Church Houston, Texas since 1998. In addition to that, he founded WordTalk Ministries in 1992, a para-church ministry aimed at communicating essential Christian doctrine in a simple, practical, and pertinent way to believers. He is the author of two books, "JUST FOR YOU - The Need for a Particular Gift" and "BIBLICAL MASCULINITY - That Your Prayer Be Not Hindered."
Reverend Solomon holds degrees from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute, and the College of Biblical Studies, Houston. He taught as adjunct professor at Inter-Baptist Theological Center. He presently serves as Secretary of Education for Union Baptist Fellowship and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Jesus is Alpha & Omega Ministries. Additionally, Reverend Solomon serves at the pleasure of the Governor of the State of Texas on the Texas Task Force for the Reduction of Child Abandonment and Neglect.
Prior to becoming a full time Pastor, Reverend Solomon enjoyed a distinguished career in Computer Science. As an accomplished musician, he loves playing keys and guitar. Reverend Solomon and wife, Katrina live in Houston with their three children: Laura, Ale'ycia and Yuri II.
Reverend Solomon's favorite quotation is, “Now, this life is so precious, manifested as it is in the Person of Jesus... when I, too, turn my eyes to Jesus, when I contemplate all His obedience, His purity, His grace, His tenderness, His patience, His devotedness, His holiness, His love, His entire freedom from all self-seeking, I can say, That is my life."
