Who do you belong to?

Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God – Ruth 1:16d

That’s a good question for us to ask ourselves. If we look back at the book of Ruth, we will see two central characters namely Ruth and her sister in law Orpha. Both were from Moab… Continue

The Fear of God Taught by the Precepts of Men (Part 1)

This was the lesson we did today in church. All these scriptures will be about how the whole world follows the Precepts of men, and not the Word of God. We are going to start in Matthew. If you would get out you Bible, and go to Mathew 4:1-4.

Ok, we read this Jesus was in the Wilderness, and he was tempted by the Devil, but he said man will not live by bread alone. We are going to see in James1:18 what other than bread will man live by.

Now we read that man will live by… Continue

There's a Storm Coming

Don’t know why

Ain’t no clouds up in the sky

Stormy weather

Me and my man ain’t together

Just keep rainin’ all the time

You ever feel separated

You ever feel dislocated

You ever just feel -------- alone

Where is Jesus?

There is a storm coming!

You know… Continue

Don't be afraid of the dark

When you are going through your night season...and it seems like everything troubling is magnified...remember...weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?

Webster defines fear as “an unpleasant, often strong emotion cause by anticipation or awareness of danger.” Fear is a very painful emotion, often followed by alarm. When we are fearful, it simply means that we have allowed some object or some other person or some situation to become so large in our consciousness, in the way we see it, in the appearance of it, that we become fearful of it and lose control of ourselves. Then the fear, the thing we dread, seems to be in total command… Continue

Life Lessons from the Movie, "Wanted"

Have you seen any good movies lately? I recently saw the movie, Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. I’ll try not to give the movie away, but it made me reflect on what it takes to live a life of significance. R. C. Sproul, in his book, The Hunger for Significance, says, “We want our lives to count. We yearn to believe that in some way we are important. This inner drive is as intense as our need for water and oxygen.”

A life of significance is to acknowledge your worth… Continue
