Life's Struggles

One day a man found the cocoon of a butterfly, with a small opening just starting to appear. So, he sat down to watch as the butterfly struggled for several hours to force its body through the hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared to the man that it had gotten as far as it could.

Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and… Continue

Meditation of the week:"TRUE FAITH"

TRUE FAITH"

When you believe that what God has said about you is the reality, you’re bold to declare it, notwithstanding what the devil, circumstances and even your mind may tell you. That’s because you have the knowledge in your spirit; the proof that those things are real is inside you. For example, when the Lord said to Abram “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee (Genesis 17:5)”, the man was… Continue

Does God still love me?

Does God still love me?

It can sometimes be difficult for us to fully understand the love that God has for us because often times we see love within the confines of what we can comprehend. Most of us love conditionally and were loved by people whose love would come and go depending on what we did. The love of God is probably one of the greatest mysteries for humans. It's not a mystery because God doesn't explain it; it's a mystery because we can sometimes think that we don't… Continue

When Pastors Need a Pastor

One of the responsibilities of pastors serving congregations is to visit members who are hospitalized, home-bound, grieving the deaths of loved ones, or otherwise in need of pastoral care. What happens when the pastor is the one in need of care, though? While parishioners can certainly visit and pray with their pastor, this role reversal can be awkward for both. Furthermore, the pastor's role as leader of the congregation makes it inappropriate to share too much information about his or her… Continue

Perfect Rest in His Presence

To be at rest is to feel peaceful and totally relaxed. When is the last time you can say you were truly at rest? Signs such as snoring, jaw crunching and moaning, belie a perfectly restful sleep.

Everyone craves rest either consciously or subconsciously. If you're too busy doing things, retired but worrying about your pension benefits, or concerned about catching the next epidemic, you are not at rest.

Moses understood only too well the consequences of stress. In his… Continue

PROPHETIC WORDS FOR YEAR 2010

PROPHETIC WORDS FOR YEAR 2010

YEAR 2010 – “My Year of Multiple Honors”

“Who also honoured us with many honours; …” (Acts:28:10)

• As Year 2010 marks the close of a decade and the beginning of another; four things will prophetically characterize this age: family strife, self-righteousness, pride and devourers.

“There is a generation that curses its father, And does not bless its mother. There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed… Continue
