Give Your All to God

Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

Every day you need to give yourself entirely to God. Say, "Lord, I am Yours. I want to be a vessel fit for Your use. I dedicate myself to You: I give You my hands, my mouth, my mind, my…

Refill Your Peace

It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit] (depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarmed). Deuteronomy 31:8

Many times, believers with Christian bumper stickers on their cars are seen driving around like crazy people, yelling at their kids, throwing…

Find Quiet Time

The [reverent] fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb. Psalm 19:9-10

Sometimes I set aside the entire day just to be with God. I stop everything and seek Him. I know I am not going to hear from God if I don't get…

Give Something Away

Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness shall go before Him and shall make His footsteps a way in which to walk. Psalm 85:12-13

God is the ultimate Giver. He expects nothing less than for us to follow His example. I challenge you to give away something every day of your life. You may think you won't have anything left if you do that, but if you give as the Lord leads you to do, soon you will…

Sacrifice Praise

Know, recognize, and understand therefore this day and turn your [mind and] heart to it that the Lord is God in the heavens above and upon the earth beneath; there is no other. Deuteronomy 4:39

Praising God starts your day right. Start thanking God as soon as you get out of bed in the morning. Hebrews 13:15 says, "Let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully…

Be Strong

The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. The Lord is their [unyielding] Strength, and He is the Stronghold of salvation to [me] His anointed. Psalm 28:7-8

We can plan to be worn out before we ever feel tired. I used to expect to be totally wiped out physically and emotionally after…

Take Every Thought Captive

We demolish arguments and every high-minded thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor 10:4b-5)

At times our thoughts are in rebellion against Christ. They control our very actions in ways that are contrary to God's truth and principles. It may seem, on the surface, like the tail is wagging the dog.

Here are some common thoughts that begin as simple observations but then take root and begin to… Continue

Confess God's Provision

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Ephesians 6:10

When your faith feels weak, ask God to show you how to pray. The Bible says plainly in Jude 1:20-21 and 1 Corinthians 14:2-4 that when you pray in the Holy Spirit, you edify yourself, which means you build yourself up on your most holy faith. Praying in the Holy Spirit causes you to make progress,… Continue

God Will Keep You

[As for me] I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me. You are my Help and my Deliverance, O my God, do not tarry! Psalm 40:17

God has a plan for each of us, and the good things that happen to us are not just a coincidence. All good and perfect gifts come from God (see James 1:17). It is exciting to have a relationship with with God when we are aware that He is carefully leading and guiding us to… Continue

He Will Reward You

So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be enterd (blotted out, wiped clean), tha times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from teh presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

Success principles alone will not work in your life if you don't spend time with God, allowing His Holy Spirit to be your Counselor and to give you revelation and understanding of what to do each day. But if you… Continue

Don't Chase Blessings

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You choose and cause to come near, that he may dwell in Your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple. Psalm 65:4

Instead of chasing after blessings, we need to chase after God. If we chase God, He will chase us with blessings. That is why the kingdom of God is sometimes called "the upside-down kingdom."

God's economy doesn't… Continue

Be Happy

The Lord is my Strength and Song; and He has become my Salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents and private dwellings of the [uncompromisingly] righteous: the right hand of the Lord des valiantly and achieves strength! Psalm 118:14-15

Happiness is the result of a radical, outrageous relationship with God. If we want to walk in victory, we have to put some time into our relationship with the Lord.… Continue

Pray and Listen

Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You. Psalm 143:8

We need to pray and then stop and listen. Sometimes we can hear God as a still, small voice from deep within our heart. Many times God will speak through our inner witness so that we "just know" the truth and it sets us free.… Continue

Crave God's Presence

My soul yearns for You [O Lord] in the night, yes, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly; for [only] when Your judgments are in the earth will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness (uprightness & right standing with God). Isaiah 26:9

If we are hungry enough, we will get something to eat. And if we can't eat before we leave home, we will go to a drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant. Or we will call a place that… Continue

Expect Something New

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3 NIV

If you get up and do the exact same thing every morning, you may get pretty bored after a month or so. But seeking God when you first wake up is never boring. He will always have a new revelation ready for you to hear.

Keep your expectation fresh by changing what you do in your time… Continue

The Choice of Worship

Worship involves the intellectual process, but it is more than just the knowledge of God where people "worship [Him] in truth." Worship also stirs the emotions; yet it is more than passion or sensual expression. Worship comes from a person's choice, in which the individual surrenders his will to God; but it is more than a decision. True worship is moved by biblical facts to recreate the fundamental human experience of praise, adoration, and exultation of God. It is when the human cries out,… Continue

Rejoice Today

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in HIs presence continually! [Earnestly] remember the marvelous deeds which He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He uttered. I Chronicles 16:10-12

Many people don't realize how important the morning is, especially those first moments of time that we are awake. God calls the sun to rise for us. He is eager for us to wake up and talk to Him… Continue

Get in the Flow

You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart. Psalm 36:8-10

I have never been much of a swimmer. I may not be the best at fighting the current, but I can float. It is wonderful just to trust the water to keep us up and go with the flow. We can trust God to keep us afloat through the… Continue

Avoid the Slingers

O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You...in a dry and weary land where no water is...I have looked upon You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Psalm 63:1-3

There were people in the Bible called slingers who defeated their enemies by slinging stones and throwing dirt into their wells, contaminating their life source of water (see 2… Continue

Ministry Is FulFilling Work

For you shall eat[the fruit] of hte labor of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you. Psalm 128:2

There is nothing more fulfilling than being rested and ready for the work that God has called us to do. God puts the desire in us to minister to people through whatever work we do. But ministry is work that requires physical, emotional, and spiritual… Continue
