Choose the Narrow Path

Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Even when we know the right thing to do, it can be difficult to do if we don't feel like it. We may feel like lying in bed much longer than… Continue

Crucify Selfish Attitudes

All of you must keep awake (give strict attention,be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

To live in victory, we can't make decisions according to the way we feel, or by what we think we want. The Word teaches that we are born with appetites sensitive to our human nature. Our natural flesh is carnal and unspiritual. It will keep us slaves to sin, unless we… Continue

Make Time with God a Priority

Then Jesus, knowing that they meant to come and seize Him that they might make Him king, withdrew again to the hillside by Himself alone. John 6:15

If the devil can't convince you to be idle and passive, he will drive you to do too much. As soon as you are out of balance, he can devour you (see 1 Peter 5:8). The word disciple comes from the word discipline. To be a disciple of Jesus, you must discipline yourself to follow His ways.

Jesus spent a… Continue

Balance Life

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You discipline & instruct, O Lord, & teach out of Your law, that You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity. Psalm 94:12-13

A person who is lazy and passive is not happy. A passive person is someone who wants something good to happen, but who just sits still and waits to see if it does. Successful people live disciplined lives.

First Peter 5:8, "Be well balanced… Continue

Discipline Brings Success

But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life. Deuteronomy 4:29

Proverbs 5:23 says that a person "will die for lack of discipline and instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray and be lost." That doesn't necessarily mean that a person will die immediately, but a lack of discipline leads toward deathly… Continue

Be Thankful

Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be gladhearted continually (alway); be unceasing in prayer [praying perserveringly]; thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Meditator of that will]. Do not quench (supress or subdue) the [Holy] Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19

Be thankful for everything, and be careful not quench the Holy Spirit by complaining, or… Continue

I just wanted to share my testimony from class last nite.

I could not wait to share my experience from last night @ bible class. I started on my book & I've been procrastinating a little. Last nite God spoke thru my teacher (which did not know about the book) & told me stop procrastinating & finish the book for many are waiting on it and lives will be changed because of it. Then he started mapping out my steps that I have already taken & gave me reason & great details for the steps.

God gave me so much clarity that I was… Continue

Ignore Distractions

And when they raised their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. Matthew 17:8

Our own flaws can distract us from keeping our eyes on Jesus. If we think too much about what is wrong with us, we will forget what God can do through us. If we look too much at what we lack, we will forget to be thankful for what we have.

The Bible says to look away from all that will distract us from focusing on Jesus (see Hebrews 12:2) If your faith begins to waver, quickly… Continue

Know the Joy

Are there tasks that you find unpleasant? Your very own attitude is mostly what makes them that way.

Instead of looking for ways to avoid the effort, look for ways to make it fun. Decide that you'll enjoy whatever you're doing.

Truly appreciate each opportunity you have to be productive and effective. Find joy in the experience of making a difference.

Enjoy what you're doing, and you'll do it well. Enjoy what you're doing, and you'll reliably get it done.

Rather than… Continue

See Yourself

The way you see yourself becomes the way you make yourself. How do you see yourself?

If you see yourself as always struggling, you will always struggle. If you see yourself as never getting ahead, you will not get ahead.

Your view of yourself is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Fortunately, you can make that view whatever you wish.

Choose to truly see yourself as effective, creative, patient, disciplined, enthusiastic and abundantly prosperous. See yourself as loving, caring, ever… Continue

Feeling Frustration

What does it feel like when you are ready to do whatever it takes to succeed? It feels exactly like frustration, because that's what it is.

Whenever you feel frustration, you are primed to make a positive difference in the world. You are highly motivated to create new and meaningful value.

Don't let your frustrations go to waste by allowing them to get you down. Choose instead to put your frustrations to work.

Listen carefully and gratefully to what your frustration is telling… Continue

Let your desires blossom

Forget about what you ought to desire. Be clear and precise and richly specific about what you truly do desire.

Do not be ashamed of your innermost dreams. Find them, explore them, expand on them, celebrate them, follow them and fully live them.

It is not selfish to desire what you desire. For by fulfilling those desires, you give the very best of your unique self to all of life.

Pay close and loving attention to the essence of who you are. From your most passionate desires will… Continue

Live with Purpose

Therefore, my beloved brethern, be firm, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile. I Corinthians 15:58

LIfe without purpose is vanity. Webster's definition of purpose is "something set up as an object or end to be attained." Christians ought to be people of purpose. We are all purposed to seek the kingdom of God, which is His righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (see Romans… Continue

Begin Your Future

Even if you've failed ten thousand times, success is within your reach. Just because you've made mistakes does not mean you must continue to make them.

Simply realizing that you've made an error is a major step toward correcting that error and getting past it. The beauty of now is that it's the end of your past and the beginning of whatever future you choose.

If you're satisfied with where you've been headed, then by all means keep going there. If you're disappointed with what has… Continue

Keep Moving Forward

Raise yourself up just a little bit. Then see how very good it feels.

Make a small positive change for the better. And you'll know without a doubt that you can successfully make even greater, more profound changes.

Lift the spirits of someone close to you. Experience how it feels to truly change the world.

Make a modest amount of progress. You'll be learning how to make much, much more.

Take one step toward your goal. And suddenly you're positioned to take the next… Continue

Why

The way to know how is to know why. The way to find enough motivation, inspiration, commitment and strength is to know why.

Why do you seek what you seek? Why do you desire to reach the goals you have set?

There is a purpose within you that will push you to overcome every obstacle. When you truly feel that your efforts are connected to that purpose, those efforts will surely bring the desired results.

It's easy to imitate the dreams and aspirations of those around… Continue

Triumph Over Troubles

Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult & triumph in our troubles & rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure & afflictions & hardship produce patient & unswerving endurance. Romans 5:3

Some days it seems that everything goes wrong, one thing after another, after another. Don't just talk to yourself, saying, "I just can't put up with anymore of this."

Don't struggle with the same tests day after day; instead talk back to the… Continue
