Doing things God's way

Exodus 20:2-17

Let’s begin this week’s discussion by looking at the Personhood of humans; from this we will note that mankind is the highest and most complex of God’s creation. Genesis 1:26-27 states that God created man in His image and likeness. Because Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God they were able to experience and respond to God’s fellowship, His love, and holiness. Therefore, they possessed a moral likeness to God with hearts capable of loving and… Continue

Tithing

Malachi 3:10

This week’s topical discussion is in response to last week’s topical discussion where the question was raised, what should Christian leaders, pastors, and parents be teaching our young regarding the issues of tithing, abortion and homosexuality. Therefore, in and effort to address Biblical teachings on the requested topics, we will begin this series of discussions with tithing and approach the subject by defining tithing, the history of tithing and the benefits of… Continue

Lack of sound doctrine

January 9, 2009

Colossians 2:8

In pondering what to write this week and after much meditation while reflecting on society as a whole and the many false doctrines I felt compelled to talk about the humanist philosophies and doctrines.

As we begin the New Year, let us reflect on the events that occurred in our scripture verses and remember who created and sustains all creations, and then recognized that our creator is worthy of our renewed commitment to Him and His moral laws.

Gloifying the birth of Christ

Matthew 2:1-12

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem” (KJV). Our scripture verse tell us who came to worship the baby Jesus and where these men came from; history also tell these were religious learned men who specialized in astrology, medicine and natural science who came to praise and worship the new born king. Another gospel writer (Luke 2:8-20) tells of shepherds who were abiding in… Continue

Ambassadors

II Corinthians 5:20

Let’s begin this topical discussion by posing a question, what is an ambassador? An ambassador is one who represents another or country. In this case, we as believers represent Christ. As stated in our scripture verse, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be you reconciled to God.” What does the word “beseech” means? It means to search out or seek after. How did God seek after humanity? It was… Continue
