I know its tough.

I know your busy... saaaaaving the world and all.

I realize that that sermon won't prepare itself and those hospital visits are potential precursors to eulogies.

That church needs babysitting and those deacons need someone to disagree with....

Revivals need a preachin', BTU needs a teachin'... the whole community needs a reachin'

And you are God's ANOINTED and APPOINTED to "Stand in the Gap"...right?

But just consider this a friendly little reminder to call your wife, encourage your husband, SIT DOWN and check the kid's homework.... Applause and accolades from the congregation mean very little without hugs and kisses at home.

We are ALL guilty of it... getting too involved in our Christo-Corporate climb and self-sacrificing spiritual service. My heart goes out to the children of power-preacher parents who leave the "one little lost sheep" at home while going out to find and feed the ninety-nine.

Believe me, this is not a guilt trip but just the overflow of my quiet time with God... hearing Him tell me to slow down and listen, learn, and love my family... HIS GIFT TO ME...

Sincerly,

This is so true. I had to reevaluate my life and see what and who was important to me. Therefore, I had to make adjustments and sacrifices to do what I need to do for my girls. They will grown and gone before you know it. You have to have sense of balance in your life. I had to learn the hard way. I was doing everything trying to please everybody but God and my children. Amen for wisdom.

we must be with one accord, because my husbsand and I just spent time with his family because of a loved one gone home to be with the lord and I just came in from a cousin wedding my uncle who is a pastor in CA. came to Milw. to marry my cousin and his new wife now tomorrow he will be giving the word at church, all in one weekend and it felt wonderful to be with family so your message is a blessing I hope others take hold to the message and spend some time with family, because we are everyday allday out in highways and the byways spreading gods love we sometimes forget our families need that love also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So very true. My children are 24 and 27 so I've already done the kid thing, but nobody and nothing is more important than my family. My congregation is low maintenance. I learned a long time ago that people that really deserve your help don't need much of it. I do 4 hours a week. 2 one hour bible study sessioins on Wed and Fri night and 2 hours on Sunday morning. Visiting the sick is one hour per week at the most. I phone those that I am led to, but that's only 30 minutes to a hour each day. Again, I think that you are absolutely right in all that you said. I pray that God continues to give you wisdom and grace.
