It's Not The Size Of The Solider In The fight, It's The Size Of The Fight In The Solider

Judges 7:1-9

Elder Crystal Lee

We have sowed- We have watered- We will reap a Harvest….

Jesus said in Matthew 16:18,

Upon this rock I will build my Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

2 Cor. 10:4

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

We’re in a unique situation- we are in a struggle that the outcome has already been decided- The side we are on has already won. Satan refuses to concede but he has already lost.

A chess game- 4 moves out- no matter what you do I’ve won- The games is over . (if you do this- I’ll do this)

The winning player still has to counter. Because satan has not conceded we counter his attacks.

We are countering the moves of the enemy- Winning victory after victory for the Lord.

Let’s look at the story of Gideon in Judges 7

First, Israel had done evil in the eyes of the Lord, and for seven years He gave them over to the Midianites.

When Israel cried out to God, An angel appeared to Gideon,

The Lord is with you mighty man of valour. (mighty warrior)

Just like He was with David against Goliath

But not everyone is going to fight in the battle.

(read Judges 7:1-9)

Gideon started off with 32,000 men and 22,000 was afraid- so 10,000 was left.

Why did God send them home, because of there lack of faith.

And yet God said to Gideon 10,000 is still too many.

All of these men that was left wanted to go into the battle but all of them was not prepared.

Some let there guards down

Some put down their weapons.

Out of the 10,000 men, God told Gideon to send 9,700 of them home.

Than He said now Gideon you have enough to defeat your enemy.

Mind you that’s 450 to 1

In the natural the odds are not in there favor.

Now there is total dependency on God.

Those that were left have faith

And they are prepared

But sometimes we still need encouragement

Look at Judges 7:9-11

Gideon knew what God called him to do, he went from 32,000 to 300

You would think that when you go into a battle having a big army works in your favor.

But God takes the foolish things to confound the wise

He will take something that looks impossible and make it possible.

When God calls us to do something that seems impossible He will encourage you.

Knowing that we are human

Knowing that we are prone to fear - prone to fight the flesh.

Let me encourage you this morning…

God has promised us…That He is on our side and He seeks our best.

Hosea 10:12

Sow yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, till he comes and rain righteousness upon you.

The victory will be won

The chess game is unfolding

Satan is running out of time - he will continue to move his pawns around - but God isn’t going to slip up and make a mistake -

There is no doubt this morning God has won the battle.

The question is:

Will you be full of fear like the 22,000

Will you be unprepared like the 9,700

Or

Will you be one of the brave few - who will stand up for the Lord

You who are in the fight hold on

Because the battle is already won.

Even if you are out numbered hold on because God has a secret plan.

He will strike a blow to the root of the enemies stronghold.

Daniel 3

He did it for the three Hebrew boys, when they were tossed into the fiery furnace. The heat was turned up seven times hotter than normal. But the fire burned the mighty men that threw them into the fire and never burned the Hebrew boys.

Acts

He also did it for Paul & Silas when they were was beaten and thrown into the jail for casting out a familiar spirit. When the enemy thought they won, the bibles says Paul & Silas began to pray and sing songs and God cause a earthquake to shake the jail at midnight. The bible says all there bands were loose.

Right now God can do the same for you. He can strike the enemy a blow that’s in your life. Whatever the stronghold maybe sex, smoking, lying, cheating, or gossiping.

Just remember this one thing;

IT’S NOT THE SIZE OF THE SOLIDER IN THE FIGHT,

IT’S THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE SOLIDER.
