Join the BLACK EMPOWERED MEN as they host FILMMAKER CURTIS A. GREEN of HOLINESS FILMS has been making movies and videos for over fourteen years. To his credit, Curtis wrote the feature length screenplays, Blood Sweat and Tears, Murphy's Law and Dream Lover as well as The Game and his most resent, Loose Ends. Curtis is credited with writing, producing and directing the short films, A Day in the Life Of..., Bus Stop and The Athlete. Since founding Holiness Films, (formally BMEnt) Curtis has directed the music videos “Heart of Glass”, “Come Go With Me”, “Keep Thinking” and “Dream Lover”. In 2000, Curtis produced, Dream Lover, his feature film directorial debut. Curtis’ second feature, Loose Ends which he also self-financed, had a successful theatrical engagement in NYC before going to DVD. BIBLICAL STORIES FOR TODAY VOL. 1 is an extremely creative and unique way of bringing the Bible to everyday lifestyles. This creation of Biblical Stories told as they pertain to today's society is a powerful way to bring the Bible to life and illustrate how these issues are still relevant now. Biblical Stories for Today shares God’s word in a way everyone can relate. The characters, situations and music are relevant to today while providing valuable biblical principles.
The DVD includes three short stories, each self contained for viewing. Each story includes the main story, the story trailer, narration of the Bible verses from which the story is portrayed and study questions to generate discussions within group and class-room settings.
“These DVD’s are not meant just for watching for entertainment value, but we designed them to be teaching tools and generate dialogue after viewing,” says writer/director, Curtis Green. “The telling of biblical stories in modern day times may not be new, but in using the characters’ biblical names, following the biblical principles and showing how we in today’s time can still relate to their situations, I believe is.”
After a test screening in New Jersey, Pastor A. Fenton of Abundant Life Fellowship simply described the DVD in two words, “Top Notch!”
SYNOPSIS - Biblical Stories for Today Vol. 1 is a unique collection of contemporary Bible stories told as they pertain to today's society. Volume 1 includes the short stories CAIN & ABEL, where two brothers battle for their father’s love and admiration; SAMSON & DELILAH, where a girl’s deception and self indulgence lead to her demise; and SHADRACH, MESHACH & ABEDNEGO, where three friends’ faith and devotion save their lives. These stories told as they pertain to today’s society are a powerful way to bring the Bible to life and illustrate how these issues are still relevant.
