Poetry like music should evoke rhythm, rhyme and remembrance; most vital is that poetry should cause one’s conscious to reflect on the poetry’s subject matter causing one’s thoughts to consider and contemplate. Through the poet’s poetry the poet’s audience should be able to grasp a crystal clear view of the poet’s mind, heart and spirit. Robert T. Sells, “the anointed poet”, Christian poetry addresses the conscience of man. One hears his artistic works and knows he has prayed and has received God’s anointing, grace, wisdom and favor. Just as the psalmist King David cried out in Psalms 51:

Create in me a clean heart, O God;

and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from thy presence;

and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;

and uphold me with thy free Spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;

and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,

thou God of my salvation:

and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

O Lord, open thou my lips;

and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

For thou desirest not sacrifice;

else would I give it:

thou delightest not in burnt offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:

a broken and a contrite heart, O God,

thou wilt not despise.

So speaks the anointed poet, Robert T. Sells, of our times. Sells is transparent in his ministry of Christian poetry consequently that he might reveal his heart and open the receiver’s heart, which is the center of our being; in Hebrew the heart is referenced to the place that stores our feelings, our will and even our intellect.

Robert Sells gives verse after verse of testimony, life experiences, confessions, repentances and revelations; joys and pains. His Genesis’ thoughts are created into words that are pure, unadulterated and uncontaminated truth of his life and others; and how the truth of the gospel creates and restores. His works illustrates the beauty, loving-kindness and rewards given to a servant of the Lord God.

The anointed works of Robert T. Sells’ voice has been mastered into a literary composition and symphonic spoken word. Accompanied by music Sells' prose and his voice compose a preciseness of a snare drum and the tranquility of a violin. An accomplished musician Sells delivers the spoken word with the assurance and strategy of a maestro conducting an exquisite concerto, orchestrating every vowel and syllable to convoy his testimony of a man’s love for God; for life and his wife; and for God's people.

Indianan born writer Robert Sells now resides in the Merrillville (Chicago) with his wife, Marlas, where they attend Living Hope Church, Assemblies of God ministry and Robert serves as a deacon. Robert and his wife, Marlas, are the co-founders of Words of Inspiration Ministries.
