My Appreciation

Father, I find it so easy to call you that…
You, who made it easy for me to voice my mistakes,
My fears, my weaknesses, my failures-
Even when I feared to mention them in my prayers
You patiently pointed at the cross and said,
‘’There, daughter, go and lay them down’’
You even reiterated at HLDP that those mistakes were part of His plan
With eyes as big as wheels at this revelation,
I trudged to the cross and hugged Him who hung there
Since then, I found peace…I am at peace
You told me who I am- I am His righteousness in God
I hear His voice everyday- silencing my accusers…
I stand tall because you gave Him your life
Hence, I call you father- for being there.

I celebrate you today, Sir
Yes- neither in gold nor in silver
I will not forget nor fail to say this…
She who partners with you in this ministry is a spiritual giant.
She is my role model…a woman after my own humble heart
She is a daughter of God- I salute her!
The gift of God to the house
Meek and gentle yet fierce and wise
A warrior she is-
You are, dad because she is…
The daughter of the King indeed! I love her.

Your voices never preach sin- no
They exalt Him who sits on the throne
You describe the beauty of holiness, the virtues of divinity
You show us the way to the cross and you walk behind…urging, comforting
Most times, you walk in front- guiding, reproving, directing
You are not a painter- that I know
Yet you have inadvertently painted Him on the canvass of our hearts
Successfully giving Him an abode- Making Him alive among us
Making us seek Him more and more and yet- more
We draw closer to admire this art of Love, painted in worship
And as we came…as we draw closer…as we look unto Him
We are transformed, polished…given new eyes
Drawn to the One who seats on the throne…Mercy Himself!

In the dark, your voice rings out
Don’t you ever get tired, mentor?
Not that I wish you would
I just wonder how it could all be
You held my hands like a father and betrothed me to the ‘’Man’’ who holds my heart
Skillfully, you redirect all who seek Him -to Him
Refusing to take the glory- Giving Him all glory
You stand on His altar, yet you are behind the scenes…
You are a mentor indeed- His vessel of honour
Thank you for obeying His voice
I am saved because you did.

Warrior, leader of the house
I had always judged giants by their sizes
They tower above others
But here, in you, I see a humble giant, residing in the mind-
Hiding behind the curtains of purity, holiness, salvation and purpose
You must stand, warrior- many are coming to seek Him as the testimonies rise
As His name is preached…
As His worship ascends…
As His love is shown…
Yes, may you continue to stand for Him who called you to this project of saving souls
Thank you, Pastor Sam for pointing me to the cross.
