Meditation for the week: 'BE GRATEFUL"

When you’re grateful to God for the things He has done for you, be sure that greater miracles are on the way. Apart from showing gratitude to God, be grateful to those around you. Always say, thank you for what they do for you. It pays to be a grateful person. For example, one day in the bible, the Lord Jesus had an encounter with ten lepers. They cried out to Him to have mercy on them, and the Lord told them to go and show themselves to the priest. That was already a sign to them, for according to the law; a leper would go to the priest to check if he had been cleansed of his leprosy. While on their way, they discovered they were cleansed. The Bible says, “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan (Luke 17:15-16)”. He gave thanks with a loud voice because he was grateful for his miracle.
And Jesus answering said, were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There were not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole (Luke 17:17-19).

In the above scripture, the Lord Jesus commented that out of ten men, only one man returned to say, thank you Lord. He turned to the one who returned and to the man’s amazement, He said, “Your faith has made you whole”. In other words, everything that the leprosy had made him lose was restored to him. The man wasn’t expecting this; all he wanted to say was “Thank you Lord” and he ended up getting a greater miracle than the others.

Ingratitude is one reason many Christians have been praying about something for so long without any answer; they have failed to thank the Lord for the little things He’s already done. No wonder the Psalmist says, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord, He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations (Psalm 100:1-5)”. When your life is full of thanksgiving and grateful to the Lord, health and prosperity will always surround you. Therefore, begin to display your gratitude to the Lord for all the things He has done for you. Even if you feel that He hasn’t done anything, “What about everlasting love?” “Sending Jesus to die on the cross for you?” “His gift of sending the Holy Spirit to live inside you?” “The gift of eternal life?” Please think about it.

HAVE A GRATEFUL WEEK!!
