When I look back over the times when I was going through a storm I have come to realize that what I was experiencing can be broken down like this. 10% of the issue was circumstance. 85% was my attitude, and 5% was my lack of vision.
My attitude could burn like a wildfire thus making the storm even bigger than it started out. My analytical mind could rationalize the circumstances to justify my attitude. My lack of vision is blown away for lack knowledge of the gifts that God has given me. I am aware of the Word, but have not experienced the practical use of the Word. I refuse to point fingers at the why. That would only add to yet another storm.
The promise that the Lord gave me was a peace beyond measure. If the storm is 85% my attitude then who gave away my peace? To attempt to answer that is to justify my own negative thinking. Both of these are an unproductive waste of time. Therefore the most import thing that I must do is maintain the vision that God has given me that raises my consciousness above and beyond any fleshly perception of the “storm”.
Heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of God is eternal life. The cares of this life are in a constant battle to take the chosen away from the Vision of God. “Where are you going satan.”. I’m going to and fro in the earth seeking whom I may devour”.
If I am to work the Word I must practice keeping myself in the Vision of God.
2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
