CHILD OF DESTINY AVOID THESE PITFALLS TO REACH YOUR DESTINY

The Bible is our Book of Instructions to help us reach our destiny safely.  It is also full of warnings to avoid various pitfalls along the way.  Love is protective and therefore God warned Adam and Eve that while they could enjoy all His loving provisions for them, He warned about the consequences of disobedience if they ate of the fruit of the trees of good and evil.  We know all that happened when they sinned.

Have you read PILGRIM’S PROGRESS written by John Bunyan, and if not, do read it, for John Bunyan details the many pitfalls the enemy lays in the pathway of Christians to stop them from reaching their destiny.

In our world we all grow around rules and regulations and warnings in the home, in th schools/colleges, at work places. Etc.  There are consequences when we break any law.

 

Remember we became CHILDREN OF DESTINY when we decided to forsake sin and follow JESUS CHRIST, OUR SAVIOR and our faith walk will continue throughout our life span.  JESUS CHRIST revealed the love of God by healing the sick and delivering them from demons and God’s love was fully manifested on the cross of Calvary when He took the place of sinners in His death and Resurrection.   

 JESUS CHRIST also warned about the penalty for sin, about the devil and about hell.    The full picture was conveyed so we could make the right choice to reach our destiny safely.   Our focus should be JESUS CHRIST, THE AUTHOR & FINISHER OF OUR FAITH as Heb. 12: 2 says.       

Having come to Him keep following Him in obedience to show our love for HIM and to take heed to the warnings given if we are to reach our destiny safely.

                                                   

 Here are some Scriptures to be aware of  -

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out in the world.” 1 John 4: 1
“For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.” 2 Cor.11: 4
MANY false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4: 3; Matt.7:15, 22                                                  
It is the last time…even now there are MANY antichrists. 1 John 2: 18
False prophets, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ -           2 Cor.11: 13-15 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
Trouble makers - Gal.1: 6-8 “I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel; which is not another; but there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we or an angel from heaven, preach another gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
False brethren – Gal. 2: 4 “And because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage:”
Witches - Gal. 3: 1 “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”
Enemies of the cross - Phil. 3: 18, 19 “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is their shame, who mind earthly things.”
Dogs, evil workers - Phil 3: 2 “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of concision.”
Deceivers, cheats – Col.2: 4, 8 “And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ.”
Col.2: 18 “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.”
Liars – 1 Tim. 4: 1-3 “Now the Spirit speaketh expresssly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.                                                                                                                                                                                                    ”Proud men – 1 Tim. 6: 4 “ If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings”
Corrupt men – 1 Tim.6: 5 “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitue of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness, from which with draw thyself.”
Vain babblers – 2 Tim. 2: 16 “But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”
Cankerous words – 2 Tim.2; 17 “And their word will eat as doth a canker …”
Captives of the devil - 2 Tim.2; 26 “And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil who are taken captive by him at his will.”
Seducers and evil men – 2 Tim. 3: 13 “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
Vain talkers and subverters  – Titus 1: 10 “There are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision.  Whose mouths  must be stopped, who subvert whole houses teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.”
Heretics – Titus 3: 10 “A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject.”
1 Timothy 3: 1 - 9 “This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into homes, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth; men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the truth. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.”

 

It is important to examine yourself, are you following some popular preacher instead of Jesus Christ, or are you serving the church more than doing what the Lord has told you to do, or are you in love with ministry more than ministering unto the Lord.  Whenever Jesus Christ takes second place in your life, it is time to take stock of yourself and put HIM first.

 

CHILD OF DESTINY do not be deceived but let the Word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom for he that endures unto the end shall be saved.
