What should you do when you join a ministry with credentials, and after being in the ministry over a year the Pastor does not give you credentials for his church. In the past I can remember ministers changing churches and receiving credentials from their new church within a year. I won't ask whether they can do that, because I know the answer is they can do what they want. I just want to know what you think, because I know of some discouraged ministers. Let me hear from you.

God Bless you men and women of God

Topic: Church Credentials / Cover(ing)

First I would like to say we as men and women of God must never attack one another or disrepect each other in any form or fashion. God is not the author of confusing! but a GOD OF PEACE! We must always demonstrate that when we share our views. I'm speaking of Min Donna who shared her opinion on this topic. The bible says there is a more "EXCELLENT WAY", we must search for a more excellent way when responding to other ones views. With LOVE and kindness has He drawn us, Love conquer all. Learn to hear one's heart and not so much their words.

I would like to talk about credentials/cover(ing) -

The word cover means: To place something on or over, to clothe, to conceal or a position offering protection from attack.

If I was to use a definition it would be "A Position Offering Protection From ATTACK" which simply describes someone of skills. Someone who is dependable, reliable, with much experience and skillfull. With that being said you must learn to STAY bloom wherever God plants you. If you up root yourself before you are fully developed you could DIE! You shall not die, but live, to declare the works of the Lord. Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have rule (Authority) OVER (cover) you and submit yourselves: for they WATCH (protect) for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. For many are called but few are CHOSEN: when you are CHOSEN, you will stay even though you feel like leaving, when you are CHOSEN, you will stand when you feel like laying down, you will hold on when you feel like giving up, you will sing and praise God when you feel like crying and shutting down, you will pray and wait for an answer regardless of how long it take. When you are CHOSEN you will keep silent even though you have so much to say. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. God has an "expiration date" for everything.

This is something I alway say: From every Great Follower, is birth a Great Leader!

God's Blessing on you

I agree. We spend so much time debating over this and that, that we don't teach the WORD, nor do we tell people to be obedient to the WORD. We have to read the scriptures. There is nothing that talks about a man being covered by any other man. But, a lot of time has been debated on it. Let's talk about the things that are in the bible. Let's teach people about obedience to the Word.

God bless

Saints of God,
This is so disappointing. We as the "church" those who claim to know Jesus, should have saw this one coming. There are some areas that are "gray" and those are the areas where man steps in and adds his take. Clothes, matter of dress, titles, whether or not a woman can preach, and things of this nature. God speaks very specifically. Then He confirms His word when He speaks to us in private, through someone, something. And that is all that should matter. For us to get caught up on a title or the covering or anything else and then fight amongst ourselves, is a trick from the enemy. Whatever way he can come in and cause division he will do it. See him for what he is. A defeated foe who has no power only that which we give to him. We have got to become more sensitive to his devices. As for the covering, I understand what Minister Morgan is saying and I don't believe that she is trying to say that a "man" has to give her approval for anything. The man is simply put there to give her spiritual direction as she continues to do the work of the Lord. The thing is this, God places us in the church to get fed, and we are to follow after "Him." God. Too many of us follow after the man, instead of the spirit which is why I believe this argument came about. When we sense by the Holy Spirit's unction, that the person we are under, or are being fed from, is no longer following God, then we need to leave that church, if the Holy Spirit so leads us to do so. The man or woman of God placed in that position of authority at that particular church has been put there by God and we ought to obey all authority that is set before us, because the "authority" comes from God. Now in the same token, if we know that God has called us to evangelize or to minister (and really He calls all who have accepted Jesus, as ministers of reconciliation), but if we know that we know, God has called us, God will make a way for us to do so. With or without the paper, the title, the ordination or anything else. And it just may be through the man or woman of God He has placed over us at the particular church we are attending. And I believe what Minister Morgan was saying, was to respect the authority for they have been giving charge over our souls, and we would be wise to do so. Again, as long as they "the man or woman of God" is following after God. I hope that we all would be enlightened or rather quickened to the truth of God's Word and I pray that we put an end to the work of the enemy. How else will others know that we belong to God, but by our love for each other.
A servant of the Lord,

Well My sister I see you have the need to be right. I will say this you can buy credentials online and that is why the ministry is full of nutcases, I stand by everything I have said. If you have learned more from people without credenrtials then you need to travel in diffrent circles. As far as School I never said one Had to complete formal training in order to be used by God I did say they should be scrutinized as to their knowledge of God and his word, Once again this was practiced by the early church. I will not go back in forth with you so you can have the last word!

Ministerial credentials can be bought online for as little as $15.00.

You can buy a doctorate or become a bishop for as little as $25.00!

Your statement regarding rendering to Caesar that which is Caesar's has nothing to do with our current discussion. Jesus never said we are obligated in any way what so ever to the government regarding our teaching or preaching the word. This is simply the tradition that the churches have promoted. John the Baptist nor Jesus had credentials from their Jewish/religious leadership, that is what enraged them.

Regarding those who preach, I have learned more from those without credentials than those with credentials. Most who have gone to the seminary/cemetery do not/cannot teach Bible truths that they are shown, in their denomination, for fear that they will lose their jobs.

Recognition by a "civil authority" never has been a Biblical requirement for the ministry. Otherwise Paul, Peter, James, John and the rest of the apostles, would have been out of line...

Your understanding of the purpose of 'five fold ministry" is misguided. If you will reread the text you will see that the work of the ministry is done by the *SAINTS!!!*

Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

Regarding the government in Jesus time, you are wrong, the Jews adminsitered both their own civil and religious courts, based on the Torah. When it came to capital punishment, that right had been taken from them early in the first century, by the Roman government, that is why they - the Sanhedrin, had to go to the Roman officials to have Jesus put to death.

Sis Ana My statement said Credentials gives one legitmacy with Government. civil not religious. Jesus said render unto Ceasar the things that are ceasars. The Message we preach is not civil it is spiritual.. Im not talking about going along to get along. However the church should maintain that the Ministers that serve are qualified and capable of serving.in a spiritual capacity and be recognized by a civil authority .any qualifications set forth are in the word of God Spiritual .The five fold ministry is given for the work of the ministry....The Im following God attitude is a cloak for rebelious individuals to set themselves up in offices they are not qualified to hold.to close this In Jesus time the government was not religious as u suppose . the Goverment was Roman rule civil. not religious. the religious had to go to the civil government to put Jesus to death because they did not have the authority to do so.

Bro Mallery:
You listed a lot of things which you feel are required to have a "legitimate ministry." Do you feel that if Jesus and His apostles, were alive today, that they would be submitting to these government regulations which you mentioned, before they started their ministrys, since they obviously didn't submit to the Jewish theological regulations 2000 years ago?

Credentials give us legitamacy with government. We can solemize marriages and such as a liscensed member of the clergy. alot of what I have read here is that The call is all you need go because God told you. The early church recognized those that were called by laying hands on them and then commissioning or sending them forth 2nd Timothy 2:2 Paul instructs Timothy to commit the Gospel to Faithful men. A man Timothy Determined who was faithful by the word of God. That man then committed the Gospel to them to carry it and proclaim it. 1 Timothy 5:22 Instructed the young Pastor to Lay hands suddenly on no man. the Laying on of hands was the means by which the presbyters committed the gospel to another. The church has order always has always will until Christ returns. One problem with the body right now is that we have many Bastards proclaimng the Gospel. We should have Sons. A Bastard cannot stand correction. a son is exorcised by correction. leagally you can not just start a church. You have to have 501c3 papers that will make you a non-profit tax exempt orginization. You cant drive a car without a liscence, you are not married without a liscence Liscence doesnt make you a preacher however it does make the ministry legitamate.

Credentials started with the Roman Cathelic Church when the seperated the people. The bible speaks of no credentials nor does it tell you tpo have a covering over you. The only covering that is required is to be covered by Jesus. One question.... Who is Paul's covering, Peter's covering, John's covering, John the Baptist's covering, Daniel's covering, And so on and so on. This is just a way to control people. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is what we need. When we learn to depend on God more and not a man, we will be much better off.

God bless
