Scripture: Psalms 51:1 Have mercy upon me, Oh God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

David prayed this prayer after Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone into Bath-sheba. David looked out and saw her and could not resist her, but this was the problem, she belonged to another man named Uriah. David had him killed to cover up his sin because Bathsheba became pregnant with David‘s child; read 2 Samuel 11 chapter.

David repented before God and asked God to have mercy on him. David loved God with all his heart, but he had an issue, and it was flesh. What is it that you need mercy to do for you? David needed mercy to blot out his transgression.  Just like David we have some things in our life that we wish we could forget as if it never happened. There are a lot of things we wish God would forget and erase off the book, this is why we thank God for Jesus, because of his blood.  It is our eraser! The enemy fights us in the area of doubt! Will God really wipe my slate clean? An answer to that question would be yes he will. Now man will never give you a clean slate so please don’t believe when you change that people will because it will not happen.  You must believe that God will forgive you and give you a clean slate, the key is to believe. So many times we think of God as we do people but he is a God of another chance not a second chance but another chance. Glory!  God called David a man after his own heart.  Even tho David messed up, God gave him a clean slate. What is it you want God's Mercy to do for you?
