Emergency Appeal!
Dear Beloved in Christ,
I hate to do this, but as the Word of God says, "ask and it shall be given unto you", so even though I didn't want to do it, yet it's the way God chose for us to receive.
Some of you know me better than others, but if at any time you visited our website and watched our ministry photo show at: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNAsWI15S-s), you know that we are missionaries to Italy, and we have been here since 1985. Although God is slowly shifting my ministry from Evangelist and Pastor to the Apostolic and Prophetic ministry, yet we are still doing evangelistic work and reaching new communities with the saving message of the Gospel.
In the past we never had the full financial support we needed, but with the exchange from the Dollar to the Lira first and to the Euro after, we were able to keep the ministry going.
Unfortunately, at one point, the "unreal" value of the Euro began to raise and slowly we began to lose our support due to the bad exchange, to the point that up to two years ago we have been losing up to 60% of our support. Today we are losing between 40 and 45%. For this reason we have been cutting many evangelistic avenues because we couldn't afford them.
Later on, when 9-11 happened, we lost some supporters due to them shifting their support to emergencies for the victims of that tragedy. Now, the huge financial crisis had given us the biggest blow (I don't want to say the "final blow"), so we went even lower in our support.
Add to this situation the fact that a few churches quit supporting us because the churches went down in membership. Some churches have even closed down. Some individual supporters lost their jobs or had to be relocated, so in the past two years we lost $ 800.00 of monthly support.
By the grace of God we were able to get two new supporters with $ 100.00 each, but we are still $ 600.00 down plus the loss of value in the exchange Dollar/Euro.
This should give you an understanding about our situation, and you know that living in Europe it's very expensive. Some in the past have argued that Italy does not need missionaries, yet they don't know that the "born again population" in Italy it's only 0.4%! That's lower than in many Muslim nations!
The fact that in Italy we have the Pope, does not mean that they are Christians.
So, in few words, we are asking you to please pray for us and to do according to God's leading. Paul in Romans 10 asks the question: "How can they call upon the name of the One they never heard about? And how can they hear unless there's a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent?" ...And I would add; and how can they pray for us unless they know what needs are? So, my responsibility it's to let you know and ask, and your responsibility it's to do as the Lord leads you.
We have never been this low in finances. In the last four months we have been using our traveling money for the trip I need to take to the US in October, and there are only $1,900.00 left of that.
