EXPERIENCE IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU WANTED

b>EXPERIENCE IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU WANTED.

What's the difference between a pessimist and an optimist?

The pessimist never sees the life that is springing forth from a burned down forest. They don't see the new growth of grass and trees. They don't see the sun shinning every morning. All they remember is the horror of the fire.
The optimist, however, sees the new growth and is grateful for the opportunity to start all over again in spite of the fire. They don't ignore the memory of the blaze. Instead they consider the blessing of the beauty that has sprung forth triumphantly.

Have you had 1, 2 or many relationships that have gone down in a blazing fire of dissappointment, rejection, abuse, etc.

Stop wallowing in self-pity because of those past relationships.
Stop having the "woe is me" attitude
And thank God for the experience obtained from those relationships.
No, I'm not saying thank God for the pain. Pain hurts! But be grateful for His presence while you endured the pain. Be grateful for any of the good times shared in those relationships. Be grateful for the lessons you learned as a result of those relationships.

For example:

* What did you learn about God as a result of that relationship?
* What did you learn about yourself?
* What will you do differently?

Your assignment may be to allow that situation, circumstance or relationship to GROW you. And until you pass that assignment with flying colors, you will continue to repeat it. It's not only other people causing the problems in your life... it is you NOT responding to those situations correctly. You are your biggest assignment!!

Sometimes we just need to grow up emotionally in a particular area. We can be seasoned saints but childlike in our emotions because we haven't allowed God to grow us in that area. We choose to hold on to the bitterness, the pain, the rejection.... all the emotions associated with the memory of that experience and it stunts our growth. Our feelings are valid but if we don't grow and gain experience, we will remain at the place of pain and never progress past it.

Do you remember how the Israelites reacted in the wilderness after being liberated from Pharaoh? Many of them constantly complained about their situation. God had them wandering in that wilderness until the generation of complainers died off. Does it seem as if you are wondering and finding yourself in the same situation year after year after year after year?

Are you learning anything? If not, be quiet and look around. You may be in the middle of test.

If you don’t pass the test, be ready to take it over again. Try to pass it BEFORE you become like that generation.
