Good God Sunday Morning: Power with Peace-Agreement-Unity

November 7, 2010

A Song of degrees of David- “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity”! Psalm 133:1 (KJV)

Power with Peace

The spirit of discord in the body of Christ is becoming a more prevalent subject among its people in all areas of their lives. Everyone has an opinion, this does not have to be a bad thing, we should be a thinking people but where chaos is- God is not. One might look at this activity with its separation, gossip, slander, misquoted and manipulating words, competiveness, contrary attitudes and pettiness as “bringing the messiness of the streets into the ministry”. The Word says in 1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints”. We must always try to live “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”. (Eph 4:3 KJV)

Power with Agreement

Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:19 KJB

The Results of Agreement: Unity!

Gen 11: 5-6: "now nothing they have imagined will be impossible!"

The words you speak will either bring victory or change circumstances for the good OR they will keep you constant in the present situation. You can say "I can" or "I cannot", and in either statement you are right! It is up to you! You and you alone, are responsible for your words. You are also responsible for your personal actions and attitudes. If you find yourself in a disagreement with your church leadership in any way, allow me to encourage you to go to your "closet". Also described in Psalm 91 as "the secret place". You must first of all, re-establish your relationship with your heavenly father. According to 1 Corinthians 11: 31 if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. In other words, the closet prayer is where you must allow the Holy Spirit to reveal your own faults and thus you are able with humility before Him alone to "judge yourself". This is your only hope for spiritual discernment. If you do not allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to you "hidden sin" or faults within you that only He knows, then you will indeed be vulnerable to pernicious attacks by your adversary, whose only power against God's people is the fact that too many of God's people are very lax in their own spiritual life! You have the authority over who is allowed to look inside your heart. Although God knows you, he will not reveal what he knows about you unless you invite him to do so. (see Psalm 139:23-24). Before I leave this subject, I must also submit to you that if you do not allow a complete work of the Holy Spirit search in your heart, you will never be allowed to operate in the gifts of the Spirit, especially in the area of discernment. How can God trust you and I to "see" what is in others if we are not willing to face what only he can reveal what is in our own hearts? So if you have a disagreement with church leadership, the first place to look for the reason is inside you, because if you are not truly "hooked up" to God in the spirit realm, you have no right to determine whether or not the pastor right or wrong in his administrative approach!!

John 15:7 (KJV) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Power In Unity

(Eph 4:13 KJV) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

(Amos 3:3 KJV) Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
