Embracing the Sun

INTRODUCTION

I am going to lead this mediation entitled Embracing the Sun, which is a morning ritual designed to provide you with clarity and energy
to carry out the daily will of Spirit. It is a morning mediation and
is best done after stretching or briefly exercising. We will begin by
taking three deep cleansing breaths; inhaling in through the nose and
holding the breath to the count of ten and then slowly exhaling
through slightly parted lips. This meditation can be done sitting up
in a chair or lying down. My preferred position is lying down, but if
you think you might go to sleep while in that position, setting in a
chair with feet on the floor and hands slightly raised will be fine.

  1. Let's begin by closing our eyes and imagining the most beautiful place you have ever been or can envision. It is a safe place where you feel
    much love.

  2. As you arrive at that beautiful and peaceful place in your mind, I want you to look around and observe your surroundings. What do you see?
What do you hear? What do you smell? Are their flowers or flowing
waters near you? If so, smell their fragrance and listen to the
calming waters that fill you with a since of peace and happiness.
Give thanks for the love and peace that surrounds your very being.
    Feel the love.

  3. After giving thanks for the beauty and love you are now feeling, I want you to behold the golden sun above your head and feel the warmth
that comes from its glow. As you experience the warmth from the sun,
you are filled with a since of peace and love.

  4. As you continue to feel the love coming from the sun, I want you to imagine the sun coming out of the sky and entering the top of your
head. The heat is very soothing and quite peaceful. The sun is
filling your mind with thoughts of love and peace. Feel the love and
peace from the rays of the sun as it envelopes your mind. Give
thanks for its love and the protection you feel from its presence.

  5. Next, feel the sun move down your head into your face. Feel the glow of its heat upon your skin. Give thanks for its love and peace it is
    sharing with you.

  6. As it moves down from your face into your neck, you sense that it is now healing any dis-ease you have in the neck region and as it
continues to move down into your shoulders and upper chest, you feel
healed from all body infirmities. As the sun arrives and enters the
upper part of your chest, you feel it cleanse and heal your body
with its love and heat. It is healing your heart and refurbishing it
with new cells and strengthening your muscular structure.

  7. Finally, the sun, in all its radiance, moves into the solar plexus. The place where it takes its final abode. You give thanks to the sun for the
healing energy it has freely shared with you. Give thanks and
praise to the sun for leading and guiding you this day. Give thanks.
    Give thanks. Give thanks.

  8. Now, as you come back into this place, I want you to take one deep cleansing breath, silently count to ten, and very slowly, open your
    eyes.

  9. Greet each other with the words “It is well with my soul.”

  10. Amen / Ashe
