HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN REDEEMED?!?

Have you been Redeemed?

1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)

18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Webster's Dictionary (1864) defines REDEMPTION as:

The act of procuring the deliverance of persons or things from the possession of captors by the payment of an equivalent.
(Procuring is defined as : to get by SPECIAL effort or to bring about; effect)

WHAT ARE WE REDEEMED FROM?

Redemption of the PAST....

1) The Curse of the Law

13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

2) Bondage of the world and Sin

Galatians 4:3 (KJV)
3)Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

Galatians 5:1 (KJV)
1)Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

The bondage of the law.

Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

The power of sin.

Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

The power of the grave.

Psalms 49:15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

All troubles.

Psalms 25:22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

All iniquity.

Psalms 130:8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

All evil.

Genesis 48:16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

The present evil world.

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Vain conversation.

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

Enemies.

Psalms 106:10-11 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

Death.

Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Destruction.

Psalms 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION?

The blood of Christ.....

1 Peter 1:19 (KJV)
19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Revelation 5:9
9) And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Romans 3:24-25
24)Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25)Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

REDEMPTION SHOWS US ...

GOD'S POWER
GOD'S GRACE
GOD'S LOVE
GOD'S COMAPSSION FOR HIS PEOPLE.

THE REDEEMER IS CHRIST AND THE PAID RANSOM IS CHRIST'S BLOOD.

Naw Bro Hancock...its a PREPAID Card..but it has to be RELOADED daily through studying, prayer, you know, a relationship WITH God and denying SELF. By allowing God's will to be done and God to order our steps. Sometime's, there's a zero or negative balance on some of our Salvation Cards...lol...don't get me started.

Bro Hancok~ One must have a relationship with God and continue that relationship. Are we perfect? By no means, however, that doesn't mean we can WILLFULLY /KNOWINGLY commit sins and expect to receive eternal life JUST because Christ shed his blood for our salvation. We have a price to pay too!
