HOW LONG SHOULD A PASTOR HELP HIS CONGREGATION,

I KINGS 17 V 8 the Bible clearly states that the word of the lord told Elijah to go to Zarephath and DWELL there I have commanded a widow woman to sustain thee.now before this goes any further,,we have heard preachers use this chapter to get the money,,Give God your last like the widow woman .But the Bible clearly states that Elijah was to dwell there and the woman would take care of him,,so if the man of GOD/YASHUA is to dwell ther with her ,,she is supposed to be Blessed, the word dwell means to lodge there ,to stay there, you see the peopel dont care how deep ones knowledge is or what they KNOW until they KNOW that the Pastor cares,,the question remains how far are we as Pastors are to dwell with the members when they're in need??how far did Yashua dwell with us? or are some still seeking Titles because they dont really know who they are in the Gospel and when you dont know who you are you always become someone else..when do we start performing sermons instead of keep preaching them?? Some preachers can preach down heaven BUT wont perform what they have preached!!Jesus /Yashua gave a beautiful parable of the good samaritan,,here we had the thief, the Priest, the Levite and the person with no title ,,But saw a need of ministry ,,saw a need to perfom a sermon and done it...

Pastors and Leaders must understand that those souls are on there hands, and once they do that then they will realize the seriouness of it!! Also this is why anther anointed and skilled Preacher move his Church in the area and everyone run to his church because of Spiritual Stability

Bro Hancock that is so true. Sadly, a lot of leaders have people they leave dwelling with the flock that don't have equal anointing and when the leader returns to the flock, things have gone haywire!

In additian Jesus/Yahshua just did not give up and leave and when his ministry was over he left a comforter,,with that saying Leaders need someone just as equal as they are in the anointing to reside when outreaching

Rev Luckett: I'm not saying that a Pastor can't go out of town on a physical vacation or visit another ministry. I was speaking Spiritually. Pastors can't just take "time off" from being the Shepherds that God has called and ordained them to be. Pastors shouldn't throw their hands up at those times when it seems Brother or Sister Whatcha-ma-call-it (lol) isn't getting the message given, or because a Brother or Sister decided to "stray" away from home or find a new home. They can't give up on the REST of the members. There is still a ministry that needs to go forth!

I also feel mature members won't expect the Pastor to "dwell" with them for each and every little thing, but, expect him/her to support them when called upon on. Some Pastors aren't in Pastorial positions FOR the Glory of God, but for glory of SELF, therefore, they tend to "dwell" for the WRONG reasons. It has even been said in some congregations "the Pastor shows favortism". If you are there for one member, be there for them all. Sheep need a Shepherd. Plain and Simple. The Shepherd can't leave the pasture unattended and go on a vacation. He has to DWELL there.

Those who left us was never amount us!! You are correct I have learned that a lot of time that the members just want someone to be there Springboard to live in sin or to be lazy in life and to be there gossip partner and sex partner!! Doc after twelve years of ministry I have seen some stuff...now if someone is in spiritual, financial, physical need then like Elijah they need to stay with them

do you remember when Jesus as the lamed man at the pool of Bethesda,,do you want to be made whole??and then he gave excuses why he could not get in to the pool when the Angel troubled the water??A lot of times as Pastors we beat ourself up because some people are not getting blessed or comminig out of addictions as well as toxic relationships,,even in the prayer line is VAIN if they dont want to be made whole,,stop making excuses ,,DO YOU WANT TO BE MADE WHOLE JESUS ASKED,,and some people are happy in there situations and it will never change as long as they tolerate it,,NOW the man of GOD can rest

One of the things i learned being in leadership is meeting peoples felt needs when we can address the needs of the people in church and help them to help them self then they grow there are only those who choose not to grow but stay at an immature level because of fear people like this will drain a ministry if everyone does what should be done then there is room to truly give back to the man of God for the love he showed to them. But we also know this does not always happen that is why we have to pray for our pastors and other leaders so they can do what God commands this is such a great need in the church.
