Interview with a Preacher Man and a Preacher Woman-by poet Sandra Dukes ,a.m.

Dedicated to, written for and inspired by Apostle Dennis Cook and Co-Pastor Marilyn Cook,
And
Doctors B.D. & Zee Cobbs and all family ministries of the Gospel

As I sat before them I could feel yet another’s presence
Familiar yet comfortingly strange
And there was a fragrance
So-o-o sweet which is only attained in Jesus’ name
What could I ask this profound couple, who had shared a lifetime of saving souls?
Who bowed humbly before the Lord, forsaking all others to have and to hold?
Yoked by a calling to deliver the Word to set men free,
Providing mankind with anointed liberties

Preacher Man! Preacher Woman!
This was a tedious walk you chose, how did God lead you to this awesome place?
It is utterly prudent that this reporter states,
The room was instantly filled with angelic voices speaking of overwhelming love
The atmosphere then changed to something more powerful sent down from above
+
“I rather be a door keeper in the house of the Lord than to have lived another life”
And it has been an honor to be in God’s service
To have such a godly husband, to have such a godly wife
Preacher Man! Preacher Woman!
How does it come that all your children are saved?
And yet again their unity of matrimony was anchored in unison of praise.

+
“As for me and my house we will serve the Lord at all times”
Rise early in the morning anoint your house from dissention and contempt
He who fell to the outermost is consumed with hatred and jealousy
Safeguard your home and hearts from deception
“For he comes to steal, kill and destroy you and me”

I am an example of loving-kindness, never forgetting why Jesus wept
Meekness is my virtue
The Lord Jesus is my crown
This is where salvation is abundantly found

Teach your daughters to bind their tongues of tale- bearing
for it is a most uncomely sin
To wait on the Lord Jesus, to present them
with a true and righteous man

In my sons, I implanted a seed of the strength and gentleness,
By which a woman needs.
To set the tone of a sanctified home
in which God and the family are pleased
That it is not the laying, but the praying
on the knees.
For a mate is to be chosen wisely as not to suffer harm
This is what gives comfort in a wintery storm

Preacher Man! Preacher Woman!
What would you tell a travailing world?
+
Women of struggle and Men in trouble
Lean not to your own understandings and do not be dismayed
Remember the Ten Commandments
Practice them every single day
Never let your memory fade
The Almighty sits high and looks low
Keep your eyes on the prize; sing through your storm
Where ever you may go
There is no greater comfort than found in Jesus’ arms
And through all things you are a conqueror free from alarm

The God we serve leaves nothing lacking, missing or broken.
Remember-- He sits high and looks low
And without praise and supplication
A sinner man’s soul will never righteously flow

Cast your sins and iniquities upon the Red Sea
Rely not to your own understanding, for God said
“Lean solely on Me”

Be not a man of whims and fancies
In the end these worldly gifts are thimble held
And yes my children there surely is a Heaven
And yes my children there surely is a Hell
