Recently, I had many questions regarding the observance of the Feast of Purim. My concern was based on the fact that this feast is one where Hebrew Israelites appear to have different perspectives regarding. Some feel it is not a feast that Abba approves of and therefore, they will not accept this observance in their households. Other Hebrew Israelites believe that this is a command of Abba to observe Purim. After listening to both perspectives, I found it necessary to study this issue for myself. I prayed unto Abba YaHuWaH for His revelation and I was blessed with an answer as for me and my household. I am not suggesting that this should be for all of Y'Israel.

First, I read the Book of Esther in its entirety. If you have not read the Apocrypha Chapters on the Book of Esther, I truly believe that you have not read Esther in its entirety. Secondly, I googled lessons on Esther and learned that Esther is indeed one of or perhaps the most debated books of the 66 books in the Canon. Well, one major criticism is that it failed to mention God. Well, I have two responses to this criticism.. first the move of Abba is all through the book and secondly, you must read the completion of the chapters and Abba is clearly talked about there.

My third area of study was to review teachings from both the Berean and BYU Lessons on The Book of Esther. Those are two resources, which I can always count on to unearth ancient scripture research, including historical perspectives. Why redo the work that the scholars have already done. I do not often accept their spiritual or religious interpretations of the data but I do trust their research to be accurate. The fact that the Book of Esther was not located in the Dead Sea Scrolls findings do trouble me; however, my belief is that the book is true and for whatever the reason (and there are many sound reasons in the story why it could have been rejected by Hebrews), the book may have been rejected even by Qumran keepers.

Based on my belief that the book of Esther is true, then I must say that as for me and my family, we will serve Abba Yahuwah in accordance to Chapters 9 and 10 of the Book of Esther. I believe the Queen was given favor by Abba and I believe Mordacai was a Prophet of Abba and based on this, his Epistle on Purim was inspired by Abba (Chapter 10 in the Apocrypha makes this very clear).

Now, here is the revelation I received from Abba in the beginnings of morning. Abba never commanded Y'Isreal to do a number of traditions but He accepted these as Y'Isreal's Set Apart way of living. Abba never commanded multiple wives as way of living with the exception of those he told personally to take one another wife. Yet, Y'Israel for many families did so and even today, many are reverting back to that lifestyle. Abba never told Y'Israel women not to lead their families... nor to be quiet in His assembly but it was told in the Epistles. Nor did Abba command his daughters to cover their heads in prayer and when prophesizing. We as Hebrews believe the Epistles of the Renewed Covenant are inspired of Abba and therefore, we accept these traditions as a Set Apart way of living. How can we believe the Book of Esther is inspired of Abba and not accept what is commanded by the prophets in the Book?

Now... there is a serious problem... Is the way our Jewish brethern observe Purim of Abba? I do not think so... not at all. As I reviewed websites and youtube videos, my heart ached in Ruwach for my Abba. Now my question is what is appropriate for observing Purim. I believe the answer is in the Book of Esther.

Chapter 9
19Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.

21To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,

22As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.

Chapter 10 (Apocrypha) Book of Esther
12 So God remembered his people, and justified his inheritance.
13 Therefore those days shall be unto them in the month Adar, the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the same month, with an assembly, and joy, and with gladness before God, according to the generations for ever among his people.

20 And ye shall aid them, that even the same day, being the thirteenth day of the twelfth month Adar, they may be avenged on them, who in the time of their affliction shall set upon them.
21 For Almighty God hath turned to joy unto them the day, wherein the chosen people should have perished.
22 Ye shall therefore among your solemn feasts keep it an high day with all feasting:
23 That both now and hereafter there may be safety to us and the well affected Persians; but to those which do conspire against us a memorial of destruction.
24 Therefore every city and country whatsoever, which shall not do according to these things, shall be destroyed without mercy with fire and sword, and shall be made not only unpassable for men, but also most hateful to wild beasts and fowls for ever.

Chapter 16 The Book of Esther
20 And ye shall aid them, that even the same day, being the thirteenth day of the twelfth month Adar, they may be avenged on them, who in the time of their affliction shall set upon them.
21 For Almighty God hath turned to joy unto them the day, wherein the chosen people should have perished.
22 Ye shall therefore among your solemn feasts keep it an high day with all feasting:
23 That both now and hereafter there may be safety to us and the well affected Persians; but to those which do conspire against us a memorial of destruction.

Based on these Scriptures, how should we observe Purim?
