Look to the Tree

There is a tree that grows by a living, flowing stream
Its service is humble yet its legacy is esteemed
It submits to order
From seed to sapling to tree
Its purpose is to fulfill its purpose to be a glorious tree


Its roots are grounded in earth’s care
Where there is no burden and no canker worms can live there
It stands noble in all seasons its trunk is hard and strong
Its branches extend to heaven
Where the birds reside singing angelic songs
“O Praise Him on High for He has done glorious things
He is the Master of the lowly
And the Mater of the Kings”

Its leaves give shade in the heat of battle
And shelter in the storm
It has witnessed ages and has only bent to the Throne

O be of good counsel! Look to the tree!
“Neither Fire, flood nor man’s progression have been able to destroy me
Drink from the living water, live your seasons, bear your fruit,
Consider the ordination of the root”
