So-called friends in grammar school who chose you last when picking teams for various sporting activities because you’d didn’t know how to play the game well?
A teacher who felt that you would never understand Algebra II?
A spouse who felt that you’d never lose weight?
An employer who is frustrated because you didn’t understand the company’s computer program and software applications?
A child who feels you’ll never buy them all the expensive gifts their friends get?
A creditor who isn’t concerned that your hours were cut and you just don’t have the money to catch up your payments right now?
In way too many lives, the people you count on and those who have counted on you. . .give up on you.
It’s painful when someone gives up on you. . .but there is someone who … no matter what you’ve done or not done … will never give up on you.
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
No matter what you’ve done or not done. . .no matter how many times you’ve messed up. . .or how often you’ve lost your way. . .He will never give up on you.
If you’ve ever felt this way, then you need to read and re-read. . .write down, memorize and quote 1 Corinthians 1:7 in the Message Bible.
“. . .God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”
Your business may be struggling. . .but pray and ask God to stir creative ideas in you. . .to open up new avenues of revenue. . .to allow you see and seek new ways of doing things. . .new opportunities.
“Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.” 2 Corinthians 4:1 NLT
The enemy may have been attacking your health. . .the battle may have been long and painful. . .but never give up.
“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16 NLT
When it appears that the deck is stacked against you. . .when nothing is going your way. . .never give up.
Now I want to share the first part of 1 Corinthians 1:7 with you. . .
“Just think—you don't need a thing, you've got it all! All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”
Did you also notice that the scripture also says, “Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all”
Child of God you’ve got everything you need to fulfill your divine destiny. . .you no longer have to be bound by what others think. . .you’ve got everything you need to make a difference. . .to live a life worth living. . .you’ve got “. . .all God’s gifts right in front of you.”
As long as He is the Lord of your life. . .as long as you pull close to Him. . .lean on Him. . .trust in Him. . .obey Him. . .put your confidence in Him. . .then you will leave a productive life. . .the God-kind of life.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”- John 15:5, 8 NIV
In and through Him. . .you have everything you need to accomplish the dreams that He has stirred in your spirit. . .you will bear much fruit. . .you will be a witness of His faithfulness to perform what He has promised.
Even if you mess up. . .1 Corinthians 1:7 says, “. . . but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus.”
God will keep you on track. . .others may give up on you. . .your dreams. . .but God, the Almighty One, our Jehovah Jireh will NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU.
“One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1
So make sure that you never give up on yourself.
