SPEAK TO YOUR TEARS

October 23, 2009

“Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.” Jeremiah 2:2

There are all kinds of tears—tears of joy, tears of pain, tears of fear, and tears of grief. No matter what motivates the tears, the fact remains that those tears are an outward expression of inner upheaval. Severe turbulence in your spirit will generate an outward manifestation of a liquid release of emotion that is cleansing to both the heart and mind.

The prophet, Jeremiah, who was known as the “Weeping Prophet,” was one of the most persecuted characters in the Old Testament. His own kinsmen cursed him, beat him, and threw him in prison. Many of you are experiencing similar persecution. You are feeling cursed, beat down, bound up and thrown away. You have cried many tears with no relief in sight. But God is saying to you today, SPEAK TO YOUR TEARS!! Tell your tears “I feel you—I see you, but I’ve got to do what God has purposed in my life.” “I can’t allow you to stop me!!”

Don’t let the tears become a stumbling block—instead, use those tears to water the seeds of your divine opportunity. Weeping may endue for a night, but joy will come in the morning!

Resting in the cleansing power of tears, I remain,

Pastor Kathy
