BRING IT ON

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible)

When I was about 12 years old, there was a big girl in our neighborhood who would send me home in tears on a daily basis. My father told me one night at the dinner table that if I didn’t handle that girl, he was going to handle me!!! I became immediately empowered by what I knew to be my father’s idea of how he was going to handle me if I didn’t take up for myself. That following Saturday morning I approached the bully’s door with fear and trembling. Her mother opened the door and wanted to know what I was doing there at such an early hour. Without hesitation, I told her that I was coming to challenge her daughter because she had been picking on me and pushing me around. Her mother called the young lady to the door and assured me in front of her that there would be no further problems from that day forward and to let her know if the law she was laying down was ever challenged. I walked away victorious and powerful.

We must lay claim to our super power—our power in Christ Jesus!!! Certainly it must have been this super power that gave David the strength to face Goliath. We can’t wait until we feel victorious—we must walk in victorious faith!!!

At the close of his life, Paul wrote to Timothy “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7 KJV) What is your fight? What is it you must finish? Whatever it is, don’t give up and don’t take down. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over!!!!

Promising to finish my course, I remain,

Pastor Kathy
