On Wed. Nov. 11th, Wycliffe Bible Translators had a World Day of prayer - where all members all over the world were suppose to be in prayers for various topics of interests. Here in Dallas, TX - I was asked to lead prayers for the Americas - North & South leaders.

Our foundational verses were Rom. 13:1-7, 1Tim. 2:1-3. It was a very hard task indeed for me because I was asked to pray way before the elections. Remember, I was in TX - at a prodominantly white mission organization. After the election, the whole atmosphere here on the campus was extremely tense (mind you, we are all suppose to be Christians). When I prayed that day, there were over 300 people present with only 9 African Americans. I know what they wanted me to pray - but I prayed what the Lord wanted me to pray. Needless to say, I was very unpopular that day.

This is what I said and prayed, The Lord revealed to me that there needs to be more intercessors - especially now after the elections. (I openly read Ezek. 22:30 for their hearing) If we say we are the body of Christ - we have to be BOLD, UNCOMPROMISING, OBEDIENT - not letting anything and everything go in our society. We are called to make a difference - REALLY be the standard, according to the Word of God...and put aside all of this foolishness. There are >52,000 people on the average who die every minute into a "Christ-less" eternity - we are worrying about the wrong things. Generally speaking, the body of Christ in the West is becoming very secular.

After I prayed, you could not hear a pin drop in the church and only a handful of people could look me in the eye. This is why there are so many churches in America and very little change in our society. Which should not be so - the body of Christ is suppose to have answers for all the challenges in the world because we are suppose to be representing Christ in the Earth and it is suppose to be His authority we should be walking in...the Gospel is very simple; we just need to be really walking in it and BE the Christ - not like we are now; weak, no power, imitations.

I can say this, serving and living in West Africa for over 10yrs. - God has blessed me with the opportunity to really see different perspectives and worship of Christ outside the US - I saw the Lord do many things that I never saw here in the US in the all the years I have been involved with ministry. Stop playing church and be the church...and watch this recession take a 180 degree turn.
A lot of us are so worried about the economic situation - let's put 1st things first...We take care of God's business and He will take care of our business.
