Shall the Cross Go Unclaimed?

Shall the cross go unclaimed
That has been prepared for me
As a testimony to the one and only
Savior who bore it for me at Calvary?
Or
Shall I deny him as Peter did in the trying hour?
Shall I betray him as Judas whose kiss was so sour?
Shall I fear the shame, the scorn, the pain
The crown, the nails, the spear and bloodstains?
Or
Shall I choose to bear it as Simon to Calvary’s Hill?
Shall I choose to accept His most sovereign will?
Shall I be willing to bear it and glorify his name?
Or
Shall my cross go unclaimed?

Footprints lead me to the place where sacrifice was made
And another set appears beyond where he was laid
And reveal to me that there is a special glory
In them and they tell a story

They tell me that Death can no longer hurt me
They tell me that the Grave has no victory
They say that from this very hour, Satan has no claim or power
Hallelujah, I have been set free

So I will say “Yes”, I will pay the cost
I will count it a privilege to carry my appointed cross
It will be my prized possession; I shall no be ashamed
My cross shall not go unclaimed
