Special (Isaiah 53:5)
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."- KJV
I know I sat down and wrote a couple of notes last year and got some feedback. I stopped, however, because it seemed like no one really cared of what was said. You know something I really don't care if people read this or not I'm doing it because, God has inspired and encouraged me to write. I have no idea who can or will be helped by these inspirational messages, but whoever it may be I hope that you will be blessed.
Now one thing I have noticed a lot lately is the fact that people continue to say that they do not feel special. Or I hear that no one really loves me and I can't find that right person in my life to treat me the way I would like. However, as we look at the given passage we find that the prophet, Isaiah, has written about a servant who will suffer greatly for the cause of his people. We modern believers have to come to associate, believe and know that this servant is in the person of Jesus Christ. It makes sense that Isaiah wrote this seeing his name means, "Jehovah saves". Isaiah has written a somewhat dark portrayal of a miserable event, an extreme suffering. I honestly would label it beyond brutal. Isaiah wants us to know that this suffering his special. How so, Lee? Well glad you asked, he puts in the inclusive pronoun of "our" in the scripture. Who is the "our"? If you are born again Christian, the "our" is yours and mine. Then he goes on to say we had transgressions and iniquities . Trnasgressions are nothing more than violations, and iniquitiy is considered to be moral evil. Another thing about this passage is that Isaiah is talking about all of these things that we have before any of us were ever born. So the servant who took all this punishment took it for us before we were even thought of! In actuality you can say your name appears in the Bible by simply replacing "our" with your own name. We have had some take up the burden of our transgressions, iniquities, peace, and we have healing all because of this suffering servant. Some of you are saying, "well Lee why did you call the title Special?" When that man leaves you (women) for somebody else after you have given him the best years or months of your life, your Special. When that friend who turns their back on you after years of friendship, your Special. When all of your family has died or abandoned you, your Special. When it seems like the world doesn't care about you and has handed you nothing but giref, your Special. When that woman you cherish and love has cheated on you, your Speical. Stop letting the world tell you who you are and what you are. God says your special or I would have never sent my Son to die for you. Thats right your Special because, Jesus saw you before you were here and died for you. He died so you wouldn't have to deal with the problems of transgressions, iniquities, sickness, and not having peace. Some of you say I stay sick or have hell in my life, Jesus ain't solved my problem. Well if you ask him with a sincere heart he will see and answer your prayer. But the objective is you have to ask and believe. So the next time somebody says you are not special, look at them in the face and tell them they are a lie. Tell them you had somebody to die for you over 2,000 years ago and most of all got up from a dusty grave 3 days later and because he did you can live on. Life doesn't end with a test, but it only begins, so keep your head up and remember you are SPECIAL!!!
