The Blessing

Mr. Plain was on his way to his uncle`s house when he decided to stop beside a tree to take a nap before he continued his journey. As he rested, he fell into a trance and saw a big ladder ascending into heaven with many angels of God ascending and descending upon it. The angels were very tall and mighty. They were all gloriously clothed in white linen and had great wings. Each of the angels descending seemed to carry gifts in their hands while the angels ascending seemed to carry requests of saints in need.
Mr. Plain bowed his head and could not draw near to the ladder for fear. Then one of the angels drew near to him and said – Beloved, God has heard your prayers and he has sent me to deliver this blessing to you. It is the answer to your prayer request.
Mr. Plain hurriedly opened the gift box to see what was inside. To his amazement, the box contained – ‘ the blessing of God ’ that he had prayed for. Surprised, he looked at the angel and said – thank you. He now began to narrate his story to the angel. I have been through a lot – he said. I have had a roller coaster ride through life. I have been up and I have been down. In fact, my life has been a matter of ups and downs. I was rich before but I squandered all of my father`s wealth and became very poor. Today, I surrendered my life fully to Christ. I never knew what it was like to experience the blessing of God until now. I feel peace in my mind and I feel as if I am in the presence of the Lord himself. You are in his presence – said the Angel. Now look up ! As he lifted up his head to see what the angel was showing him, he saw Jesus. Surprised, he said – wow! This must be the greatest day of my life. Then he started worshiping Jesus and began to declare his works. As he was doing so, Jesus came down to where he was and said unto him – today, salvation is come unto you. For today, you have become a son of Abraham. Today, I give unto you – the blessing of Abraham. You will never be poor again . For today, I give unto you a blessing that makes rich. You will also never know sorrow, for my blessing adds no sorrow.
I heard you when you cried and sent my angel to you. Even though, he didn’t come to you immediately, I had heard and granted your request when you called upon me. I decided I was going to make you stable in my prosperity. That`s the reason for my blessing. It would make you exceedingly rich; You`ll have abundantly above all that you need.
Jesus then pointed to the angels ascending and descending and said – this are my angels. I sent them to minister for my children. They are constantly in motion ; always moving up and down so that the lives of my children may be stable and orderly . As they pray unto me, my angels bring their requests to me and also help to deliver the answers to their prayers to them. All of a sudden, Mr. Plain noticed the ladder had disappeared and was quite surprised. Master ! – he said. The ladder has disappeared. Jesus turned and said unto him – I am the ladder. The angels ascend into heaven and descend from heaven in my name. I am the ladder that connects earth to heaven. That`s why you now see them ascending and descending upon me.
Jesus then said to him – close your eyes. I have a surprise for you. He then asked him to open his eyes. Wow! Mr. Plain exclaimed. Where am I? This place is so beautiful. You are now in heaven, my son – Jesus said. Welcome to the house of your God and your father. Jesus then turned and said to the angels – let us celebrate him! For this my son was dead and he`s alive. He was lost and he`s found. Immediately, there was great joy in heaven and Mr. Plain`s return to God was celebrated with much dancing and rejoicing.
Then Mr. Plain woke up and praised the Lord for the glorious encounter and left the place rejoicing because he had been blessed by the Lord.
